Didn't defend them at all. Anyways, I wonder why the mainstream media and all of these celebrities never condemn the isreali government and IDF for continously murdering civilians including mostly women and children?

I understand his involvement with the movie, my question is why would this comment have any (negative) impact on the movie's boxoffice/awards as the op suggested

His statement (unintentionally) captures the depravity of Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

 

Unspeakable barbarism against Israeli civilians is shocking while unspeakable barbarism against Palestinians is mundane. He would never have believed it could happen to Israelis but he’s utterly unmoved that 20X Palestinians have been murdered since then. 
 

Brutality against the coloniser is unspeakable but brutality against the indigenous is inevitable. What a shame.
