considering she had multiple variants and months of preorders, nicki’s numbers are less than stellar. they’re still solid-ish though.

tate’s numbers are also very okay for this being her first project.

What's the big deal with Nicki having "22 tracks"? Don't rap albums usually have 20+ songs?

It’s people who don’t understand rap speaking on the album and making uneducated pop comparisons lol

no one but bardigang and co actually thought tate would outdo album sales, be serious. i even predicted 35k so this is still better than that

They really did I wish I had saved some of those takes the way they cared to save irrational twitter barbs million sales posts :laugh2:

Why is Beyoncé being discussed in here? :skull:

They’re bringing her up in every Nicki thread it’s getting weird…

i love me some bey and so does Nicki so idgi

that said, it’s prob bc they can’t afford to compare her to the main pop girls stats

Atrl is so weird sometimes. I understand hating an artist and wanted to drag at all costs but one has to remain logical. Those are great numbers. Bringing delusional Twitter's posts from users with no understanding of charts might earn you likes but it doesn't change the fact that those numbers are good.

OT : Good numbers.

This is a female rapper (historically less successful than male rappers) who is 15 years into her career. There's no negative spin on this, it's impressive, that's it.

Considering this is a 72yr old, grammyless granny.

Over every year since 2016 who also can't rap: I'd say this is pretty revolutionary if I believed those things.

I mean, considering how low people claim to view her and her ability to perform, being on top YET AGAIN should be more than worth them reconsidering whether they're living in a DreamWorks production of reality or not. I mean...

But that's what you'd do if you were a normal person, thinking for yourself and forming your own beliefs. A person that lives to downplay, throw shade and "rEaD!1 the gworls 💅" wouldn't be able to have a consistent worldview if you paid them(mind you, they are doing this labor for free!)

Nicki fans have been trashing Bey since REN came out. They really thought she would destroy Beyoncé when she came back. That’s why people are bringing it up

It's funny they thought B is over after The Gift and now B's first week is above Gaga, Billie, Olivia, Ed Sheeran, SZA and now Nicki plus is currently charting for 70 weeks. Nothing ever changed since 2013 I guessed.  Music consumption might have changed but THE female album SELLERS remain as Taylor, Adele and Beyoncé.

OT: The numbers are actually good.

The numbers are good honestly. Not sure there are others who debuted around 2009-2010 who can pull these numbers outside of Gaga.

Invasion of Privacy debuted with 255k.

& even on streaming, the numbers aren't that much different:

You’re comparing the first week sales of Cardi’s debut album to the first week sales of Nicki’s 5th (?) album, let that sink in…

apples to apples would say IOP did 255k and PF1 did 345k first week, that’s comparing them when they were both at their “peak” in their main market.

Pettiness aside the numbers are good for all of the aforementioned albums.

PF - 375k

PF RR - 253k

TPP - 244k

Queen - 185k

She needs that 190k to outsell her last

This isn't terrible imo but it could've done way more if the album quality was better, and she should have never hyped it up

it's giving

No shade, but how is she doing that number when the album is tanking on Spotify? Is it Apple music? I assume nobody buys albums in 2023 except for few exceptions...

any chance taylor remains at number 1 after the drop? :biggrin2:

She’s very stable inside the AM top 10 and selling well at Amazon and iTunes. Barbz yesterday mentioned she already had 45k units from website sales. She will most definitely break 100k by now. People are expecting a downgrade to a 150k prediction now, but that’s mostly because of its Spotify performance
