barbiegrande Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Has it been positive or negative? How much do you pay and is it worth the money?

Jack! Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 From a health-care point of view, unless you're a type 2 diabetic who would be classed as clinically obese with bad diabetic control and have it prescribed by your GP or DSN, you absolutely should steer clear. Semaglutide is certainly effective within the population of patients that it's intended for, but outwith its clinical realm it's only going to substitute a void that can be achieved with lifestyle changes in line with diet and exercise. Unfortunately the vanity catch of it has ran it's supply levels to dangerously low levels, and the wilfulness for an otherwise healthy person to splurge in excess of £/$300 to obtain one of these injections is one of the biggest pharmaceutical conflicts of interest I've seen in a long time. Weight issues are real and believe me it's something I can empathise with, but a deficit based diet and exercise plan will do you more wonders longterm than going down the route of Ozempic or Wegovy. 3 2
Miss Show Business Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 My insurance covered it for a while but now I've been playing a waiting game with them. I had no major side effects except for some mild stomach cramps/pain that eventually went away on its own. Some days, I was shocked how well it worked. I would have to force myself to eat something. I lost only around 10 pounds before I was unable to get it refilled. But, I think in my case, it would be a good solution to some other health issues I deal with. Let me be clear, too, I meet the criteria for a prescription. I definitely agree that it shouldn't be used for quick weight loss if you're just a little bit overweight. 1
GreatestLoveofAll Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 i wanna get on it but idk if im even qualified and im too scared to ask
SoSickOfThatSOL Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) I started it some months ago. I’ve had trouble with my weight for a decade. I knew at first that it wasn’t really just about losing weight, so I started therapy and then antidepressants. However, when I finished my psychiatry path I started seeing some problems, I have diabetes on my family history so I try to do some blood work regularly, almost never on the right side of the limits tho. So, this year I went to this endocrinologist, show him more tests and we came to the conclusion that semaglutide was a good treatment option for me rn. As in the adverse effects, it’s just what your physician will tell you. I’ve had just gastrointestinal and all are related to what I eat, and shouldn’t be. Mellark Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 I don't like how it is glamourized with celebrities, which harms and fucks over people who need it for medical reasons. Well, I’ve decided to forgo obtaining it. Not worth it. My interest was largely superficial, but I’m just gonna starve myself the old fashioned way to lose weight.
