She never said any tour would become the last. She ain't Cher. Last year she said she missed being on stage because she's a showgirl. Fans just say that the tour will be the last, though she didn't. Not to mention, this tour as,well. Some fans underestimate her and keep saying she will quit touring after this. No surprise that they keep pushing her down. 1 hour ago, tiagol88 said: Please show me a tour where Madonna promoted it as the last time she would be doing this lmao From the Girlie Show wiki page: The tour was then chronicled in a photo book of the same name, released in November 1994. This release included a CD with three live tracks: "Like a Virgin", "In This Life", and "Why's It So Hard". Madonna wrote in the book: "When I finished the Blond Ambition tour, I swore on my life that I would never even think of going on tour again as long as I lived. I was spent. I was exhausted. I was sick of traveling. I wanted stability. So, I threw myself into making movies, recording a new album, and I also put out a book called Sex. So much for stability. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Girlie_Show_(Madonna) I meant to say Madonna was telling herself "this will be my last tour" but she keeps coming back and she jokes about that. The infamous "the most controversial thing I ever did was sticking around" quote also plays into this 1

Madonna herself said she hates doing stadiums because her production value is always above what an open air can provide and she is still probably petty and hates the S&S tour stadium experiences because there were so many wrong things happening stage wise. Of course she would sell out stadiums in a blink of an eye, like, who even doubts that? Her previous “tour” was just theaters being a proof of her hating larger audiences for a single show. She’s already a billionaire so why contradict what you want for yourself as an artist? Some of you acting here like she has something more to prove. Oop, scalp them haters!

There's a Sticky and Sweet behind the scenes mini docu on YouTube where she says it again. And during the MDNA Tour, Donatella said that Madonna was miserable back stage, so we can probably guess how she was feeling about touring there 1
Kern Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 I also remember a quote from some Blond Ambition Tour video when she says something like 'the only thing keeping me from cutting my whrists was the thought that soon I'm going back to America'

Not a bad thing necessarily. Just an observation. She was easily the #1 touring female artist in the 80s, 90s, and 00s but she began declining after MDNA tour wrapped up. This tour is clearly gonna do better than RHT but that's mainly because of the touring industry bloom, inflation and the fact that its a greatest hits tour etc. I mean, she grossed $22m in London with even fewer tickets sold with Confession in 2006 (not adjusted for inflation). Why do you need to spin this in a negative way? She's decades older than Beyonce and Taylor Swift who are in their touring prime. We already know. lol

These boxscores are great and show that she's still a fierce touring act. But the fact that her arena shows from 2006/2004 have similar boxscores despite the recent touring industry boom is a testament to how truly impressive her touring prime was. No one but Barbra Streisand and Rolling Stones were grossing that much in arenas but nowadays even acts like Drake are averaging $4m a show. She's still in good company but she departed from the elite tier (who are now Taylor, Bey, etc). Just an observation, it doesn't have to be negative. 3

Jay07 Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Madonna has never promoted a tour as a farewell tour but she has said that she's so exhausted at the end of each tour, she says she will never tour again (only to reverse herself). She said ot on her Stern interview too. Amazing numbers but of course she's slowing down. She's 65, she's been doing this for 40 years, she literally pioneered the pop megashow as we know it today and she's been touring extensively for 20 years after the break she took in the 90s. She's still doing great and most importantly, the show is an artistic triumph. She's still in a league of her own in that aspect (the most important one). 5

Who pays that amount of money to an artis in decline? 5
