Would this artwork have elevated the album experience and concept, or do you think the spider is a more representative album cover?

No. First of all, it's awful and looks amateur-ish and secondly, there's nothing demonic or particularly dark about the album so the less it features her weird, incoherent satanic imagery the better.

If she really wanted to go with the spider theme she should have just used a shot of herself with a spider on her face or something

The unifying theme in the performances and videos leading up to the album were the black and red demon-women, so she should’ve used them. It’s also very striking imagery, way more than the spider. I think maybe the label intervened to not harm the album sales lol I’m sure it would have sold more physical records with a better cover tho lol
