are people really thinking she meant the album is sonically goth-punk when she said that? :skull: are y'all intentionally obtuse

Using those terms to describe any other aspect of the album is still laughable

Even as a Reputation #truther, the way she talks about herself and sees her own experiences is her biggest character flaw. :toofunny3:

It's ironic too since I think a lot of people's defense of the album, mine included, is that the Kimye drama overshadowed it and that it's actually largely an album about falling in love with very few tracks about the #incident, and now she's like "NOPE IT'S AN ALBUM ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DID ME WRONG AND DESERVE TO BURN!!". King of My Heart deserves better!!

I really don't understand how you guys continue to take everything she says seriously/literally? She's obviously being dramatic and setting up a narrative for Rep TV between this, the Kim K mention, the recent Joe drama, etc and as usual people fall for it. Her mind.

Hate her for getting Rep lashed tho.

I got my first (of many) tattoo in 2018 which was after reputation came out. Coincidence? I think not.

So It Goes… changed me.

I doubt she’s literal. It’s Taylor Swift and to an extent you know she’s probably saying it for fun. Sometimes twitter takes things serious that no one cares about.

Of course, Reputation wasn’t “goth-punk”. It was barely edgy. But it was a darker album for Taylor, and it appears that it was a dark time for her as well (tho I think she’s a bit overdramatic and I doubt she moved out of the country for Kimye). The album is majorly a love album about someone loving her despite her Reputation through the years which is probably her most interesting take on love in her discography Imo.

As if this makes her less cringe :rip: Drudging up six year old drama to sell maximize sells of her re-recording. The David Zazlov of pop strikes again

Nothing about Reputation was going against the status-quo, nothing about it was goth and nothing about it visually fit that narrative. It was as pop as pop can be and was literally bourgeoise adjacent. Literally, LWYMMD was literally her flaunting her wealth and riches at the camera for 3 minutes straight. She will never be goth. She will most certainly never be punk. She is just a black turtleneck sweater with red lipstick on.

Mind you this is the same interview where she did the whole “are you not entertained?” bit. Like, I swear, some people are just completely blind to her personality somehow. She brought her ******* cat to the photoshoot, of course she was being tongue-in-cheek, like

I’m sorry but this girl is a bigger victim than her career. I don’t think she will ever grow out of being a victim. Every interview, every chance she gets, someone, something always wrong her, yet she’s the one who feuding with the entire industry for almost two decades

people are always scheming and plotting against her. it's not her fault.

I mean avril lavigne was dragged for saying she made punk music when she actually makes pop punk. What did you expect from an album that is not punk in image, lyrical content or sound.

It could have made sense if she said punk as in attitude but she said goth punk which is even further from what she did.

Punk is also used as an attitude

She just meant it was her “rebel” moment

She is in fact the polar opposite of the punk genre tho, so this really has to be the only thing she meant :toofunny3:

We are literally taking her own words for face value. Maybe she should be more clear next time instead of saying dumb ****.  We know exactly what she meant, which is why using the term Punk for such a g-rated, corporatized artists is so funny

Swifties know that was an objectively stupid statement but yall will never admit to Taylor having a fault :lmao:

Yeah idk what’s more cringe, Taylor’s quotes or the way the swifties are scrambling to spin this as “lol, mother was obviously kidding. real critical thinkers would know this”
