you know what it never was? that serious

it was never that serious

the coopting of genuine art and activism for profit is quite a serious matter, actually, and it is one of the ways that capitalism destroys art and political movements.

So yep, it is actually that serious.

I don’t think it’s that deep or that she meant Reputation was a goth punk album sonically but the way she sees herself is giving Witness era

Purposely taking her words out of context to make her look stupid when she was making a joke :rip: don’t yall get exhausted creating fake reasons to be mad

I guess viral threads that don’t meet the threshold remain open only if it drags Taylor s:wan:

I already changed the title, I didn’t know about that rule. I’ll do better next time

We are literally taking her own words for face value. Maybe she should be more clear next time instead of saying dumb ****.  We know exactly what she meant, which is why using the term Punk for such a g-rated, corporatized artists is so funny

Swifties know that was an objectively stupid statement but yall will never admit to Taylor having a fault :lmao:

you are brave talking about "not admitting having a fault" with that pfp mr barbie, projecting much?

"taking her words for face value" just say you are ignoring the actual meaning of what she said for your own personal agenda and go

There’s literally a banner to remind users of the viral  threshold it’s been there for months :rip:

Anyway it’s the negative energy we wanted for rep she’s so smart

And putting some random people tweets (:rip:) on the OP to further push their false narrative. Two of them aren’t even at 20k

the difference is if the tweet is not viral and about Britney and Gaga the thread gets closed.

If the not viral tweet is about Taylor or someone else they change the title about the virality but the thread stays....when the rule it's literally  not viral- not thread worthy

LOVE Reputation but there's nothing "goth punk" about it lmao

I do take the hats off to Swifties that indocrinated the internet that reputation is anything but a mid-boring pop album with no artistic merit and convoluted "bad-ass" imagery

I’m sorry but this girl is a bigger victim than her career. I don’t think she will ever grow out of being a victim. Every interview, every chance she gets, someone, something always wrong her, yet she’s the one who feuding with the entire industry for almost two decades

I feel like she meant the image and not so much the music.

Well I don't think that wearing black lipstick is enough to say that the image is goth-punk either. She's trying to intellectualize that whole era, making it seem like something more profound than it actually was, but it's a reach.

Like what is punk about the LWYMMD video? The cover is goth because it's in black and white? If anything, it's the cliché of good-girl-gone-bad that we had already seen almost every pop girl do before her. And even then, it wasn't even particularly provocative, compared with Miley for example. Her "bad girl" pose was mostly about vicimitizing herself anyway.

I get that the "goth" part is a bit too much - but it's still goth for what She stands for, which is mostly a colorful pop aesthetic

while Reputation was quite dark of an era for her.

And her adding the "punk" part to it, has its logic. She literally said it.

She obviously doesn't think that it's a strictly gothic punk genre. It's much more of an overall description than just for the music even.

Are people really acting obtuse to not get that :deadbanana2:

The tweets made several points i fear, but the swifties on this website insist that we’re reading an doctoral dissertation from Taylor and that she’s taken out of context

Love how these “haters” have clearly heard the album multiple times. They really do what she commands them to everytime. The TIME’s Person of the Year is so powerful :jonny6:
