are people really thinking she meant the album is sonically goth-punk when she said that? :skull: are y'all intentionally obtuse

obviously the latter, anything to make her or her fanbase look dumb or delusional.

Smth. being "a punk move" or "goth" doesn't literally only mean that anymore and anyone who doesn't get that is either not English proficient enough or an idiot.

I feel like she meant the image and not so much the music. But go awf. She should've used a different phrase though.

And what was goth punk about the image anyway

In her mind, punk = rebellion, and that's what reputation was for her vanilla self. I don't think she meant that rep was sonically punk.

I’m starting to think some of them are just… that obtuse. Like you can only give them the benefit of the doubt for so long that they are deliberately trolling :rip:

She's a musician, she should know the difference between mainstream pop and punk.

She wasn’t labelling it like that by genre. :rip:

She's just trying to be relatable to emo teenage girls who think they are edgy :michael:

Are people really brain dead or they are pretending to be brain dead in order to be able to attack Taylor yet again? She isn’t classifiying her album within the music genre. :celestial2:

Yeah, I think she came across quite badly in this interview unfortunately.

She's achieved something remarkable but sometimes you need to wear your success lightly rather than dial up the pretentiousness to 11.

That's not viral and you're not allowed to use the word viral if it doesn't meet the threshold.

People taking this seriously when she was laughing when talking about this in the interview.

Even if she was referring to the aesthetics/subject matter and not the sound, it still wouldn't be goth punk, so I'm not quite sure what her allegedly big brained fanbase are getting at saying everyone else is missing the point :clown:

We are literally taking her own words for face value. Maybe she should be more clear next time instead of saying dumb ****.  We know exactly what she meant, which is why using the term Punk for such a g-rated, corporatized artists is so funny

Swifties know that was an objectively stupid statement but yall will never admit to Taylor having a fault :lmao:
