Jessie Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 In raw numbers it’s up there, but thankfully I don’t look to numbers alone to determine what I think was a better pop culture moment between the trailblazing Thriller that electrified what pop could be and the gormless Eras Tour which showed all the banana slipping, “relatable” ways it shouldn’t. 3 1
Bad_vocal_technique Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Well…. The fact that she was invited to open for her kinda affects the validity of her opinion a little bit.. 1 1

I'm a swiftie, and have never been to a Beatles/MJ concert, but stil, stop comparing her to legends that even Taylor herself considers as idols. Why can't we wait 10-30 years so we can more accurately look back on her legacy. Maybe then we can start saying comments like this (or maybe not since most of y'all might be in nursing homes by then) We’re 17 years in girl, how much more proof is needed? She could stop tomorrow and she’d be up there with them 💀
Sabrina Carpenter Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 facts Taylor's better than the Beatles and MJ combined so... 1 3
flashfox Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Michael Jackson made thriller so she’s wrong. 5
Gossip_Boy Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 If it's one thing these white women will be, it's completely and utterly delusional. 1 1 3
Pheromosa Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 as someone who does not care for MJ because Janet is vastly superior and doesn't like the Beetle guys either, she might have spilled 1

MonsterJohn Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 How about vocal and dancing? Or Taylor minions are continuing to brag about the dollars as usual? 1
Elusive Chanteuse Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 This is really too much..... like really?
Phaunzie Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 (edited) I'm so happy she wanted to share her opinion with us. Truly a valid point with so much proof, how can we refute such a claim. I guess walking on tour and pointing is best thing she has ever seen on stage. She is right, M.J certainly can't perform as good as our park and bark queen Taylor. How white of her honestly. FightDragonsWithMe Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Can we stop comparing Taylor to the pedo please 3
Harrier Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 The girl had to pick two of the very, very few cultural phenomena that actually outrank the eras tour MJ sold 70 million copies of one album when there were 3.5 billion fewer people in the world then there are now, there is simply no comparing any one era to Thriller 3 1
Joyride Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 she ain't lie i mean this icon alone made the tour 100x better
Jay07 Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 So I assume this person lived through Beatlemania and Thriller to make such a judgement? Or is she just another member of her "squad" trying to suck up by diminishing the work of an actual trailblazer, the first black entertainer to be played by MTV? 5 6
poki Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 An indie-folk white girl trying to come for MJ bffr

blackoutbritney Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 The blatant ass kissing by every single person in the media to get brownie points from taylor and her rabid fans is far too much. Taylor’s success is amazingly impressive and can stand on its own without constantly being compared to with other successful black artists (ie: beyonce, MJ) or legacy acts such as Madonna and Beatles. The fact of the matter is that while Taylor’s tour maybe a huge spectacle for the fans she does not possess half of the stage talents that MJ did in his prime so this statement is categorically null. 1 1
DeadInside Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 She's right, and she didn't have to m0lest a child to do it!
GraceRandolph Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 How come no one can ever compliment Taylor without bringing down another artist? 1 1
spree Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 I still have yet to see a performance from the Eras Tour that is a "must see" and puts her up there with the best performers of all time. There is a lot of spectacle cuz there is a lot of money. And that's ok. But let's not pretend she is even remotely close to Michael Jackson or the Beatles. Strutting back and forth on the stage with huge spectacle behind you doesn't equate to the best tour ever. I applaud her work ethic tho and such a huge setlist. That's commendable. 1
Devin Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 time to delete her streams on my lastfm cause wtf.
