Taylor Swift becomes a billionaire according to Forbes

:clap3:

And of course the oth are acting like she's at fault for this when they remain silent about other girls becoming Billionaires. A certain fanbase has been shoving that fact down everyone's throat since their girl became one and I've never seen people be bothered by it.

I'm so sick of people being celebrated for their money

I’m happy for how this means that she’s been able to connect with so many people - being the first billionaire with your own music as the primary source of income is impressive in terms of scale, and it says something about her popularity.

Nonetheless, billionaires should not exist - I believe with every fiber of my being that wealth and income inequality is one of the biggest issues in the world right now, if not the biggest. Taylor has done some great things with her money like the bonuses she gave out to the Eras tour crew, so I hope that one day, she does more great things with this wealth. I personally believe that she is someone with the kind of moral compass to guide her to use this wealth for good.

Hopefully she goes the Dolly Parton route

Are you a vegan? If not why are you contributing to something as environmentally awful as the meat industry?

Cool, but we still need to tax billionaires out of existence. :coffee2:

You don’t have to defend Taylor’s private jet use this vociferously.

Oh wow, now we can stan her 1040 form just like Rihanna stans! :foxaylove:

But we still get music. :santa:

It’s so funny because nobody is bringing up Rihanna in this thread but Swifties. Can’t you celebrate your faves success without tearing down another female?

Regardless, Rihanna earned her wealth whilst simultaneously being forefront in changing the industry for POC and inclusivity, meanwhile the other is selling 6 versions of the same album exploiting her fans.

Not to mention nobody else has been able to achieve the same success and become a billionaire selling product, but yes as I said continue to diminish others achievements.

You guys are so lame.

You are correct, we do enable it, but that's mostly because the wealth created/resources available were and keep being stolen from everyone by a group of individuals, codified into law (private ownership) and then sold back to us for a profit. There's a lot of work to be done, not just logistically but culturally/socially/philosophically as well. It's not necessarily about making everyone ''equal'' but by identifying and doing the best we can to meet everyone's needs, at the very least. The commons should be, within reason, available for everyone, splitting hairs about who owns what or is entitled to what is a path doomed to failure. Measuring everyone's worth by how much money is in their bank account is a terrible way to go about things, especially when money and the ability to make it are also tied to if someone will survive period. We already produce more than we can feed people, and there's enough space for everyone. The ''problem'' is that it is not profitable to do such things.

Being a doctor already grants someone with a certain social status. An individual wanting to aid other people's health is not correlated to their supposed desire of accumulating wealth, that's such a weird angle to argue from. Maybe we would have less plastic surgeons, I guess? How would that be such a loss for the world when most people cannot even afford that anyway? You also seem to neglect the fact that most people who did or can accumulate wealth already had some level of money to begin with. It's a riged, unsustainable game that only gets worse with time. Why do you think wealth inequality keeps rising and reaching levels never before seen?

But your argument was about redistributing wealth and not just “meeting everyone’s needs”, which is why I used monetary values shared by corporations. And believe it or not, some people go into the medical field for the money. Don’t be naive. There are some who genuinely like to help, but a lot for the money. As far as cultural changes and societal changes don’t hold your breath, society is long gone unless Gen Alpha doesn’t fall into the same traps we have.

Just because stan culture has decided to give RihRih a free pass and never hold her accountable for anything, doesn't make her this ethical billionaire you all are bragging about

https://remake.world/stories/rihanna-savage-x-fenty-scores-worse-than-shein-in-accountability/

"This disconnect is striking; we see a brand profiting from using feminism and inclusivity as core elements of its marketing and branding strategies while at the same time neglecting to put in place basic safeguards to protect workers in its supply chain, 80% of whom are women."

"SXF is amongst the lowest-ranking companies on Remake’s 2022 Fashion Accountability Report, scoring a meager four points out of a possible 150, demonstrating an utter lack of transparency and accountability in all of the assessment categories. For context, the average score of the 58 companies analyzed in the report was 14, with even ultra-fast fashion brand Shein outranking SXF."

Since you know everything, you would know that Rihanna earned her wealth through Fenty Beauty (which I was clearly referring to hence the POC comment) and not savage.

Regardless, my contingent was obviously; why can’t swifties celebrate without bringing up Rihanna? And why are we diminishing the success of someone who has achieved so much for inclusivity especially for POC?

Posting a random article for something off topic and failing to address anything I was actually addressing isn’t the drag you think it is. You’re at war with yourself here :rip:

I can literally dig up countless random internet articles claiming the opposite. What is your point?

Again, I don’t know why you’re failing to acknowledge what I have repeated multiple times now.

I'd wager the few coins in my piggybank that she's been a billionaire for a while now.

Upon reading it (clearly something you didn't do), both your ''links'' are both about Savage Fenty, not Fenty Beauty, not to mention it  has nothing to do with inclusivity.

If you're going to try drag me, you can at least do yourself a favour and actually read what you're going to post next time instead of posting the first negative article about the brand you found, embarrassing  :rip:

Again, what's your point? I can post articles and reports from Vogue, LinkedIn, Forbes and other publications that highlight how Rihanna changed the industry.

The point still stands though, why can't you and other Swifties celebrate Taylors wealth without bringing Rihanna into it or diminishing her achievements?

Can you read :suburban:

"This disconnect is striking; we see a brand profiting from using feminism and inclusivity as core elements of its marketing and branding strategies while at the same time neglecting to put in place basic safeguards to protect workers in its supply chain, 80% of whom are women."

Nope, that link is indeed about Fenty Beauty, savage Fenty has its own page with an even worse score:

https://directory.goodonyou.eco/brand/savage-x-fenty

And you're the one who brought up rihanna as a response to a harmless post...

I actually can't tell at this point if you're trolling or just pure stupid. That statement can could be applied to either, but is obvious in reference to Savage. Alas, why would a makeup brand which is obviously predominately used by females need to use feminism in its marketing... it's literally cosmetics. :rip:

Anyway, again if you actually bothered to read your own receipts you would of seen
