Hope the leakers keep their **** tight on this one

Also, she seems and sounds uninterested about this one… not a good sign. Could it be a generic pop album that her label is making her put out?

Give us another Crash queen!

That would be CRASH

I will always be hyped for new stuff from Mother Angel but does the girl ever take a rest? Charli is a workaholic yet it never seems to have a negative impact on her album quality control, Taylor Swift should take a few notes.

Have you heard "In The City"? Of course it is. :skull: I can't believe she re-signed with Atlantic after 'CRASH' was such a perfect kiss off to them and her time as a commercial pop star. I really didn't expect her to run back to them and double down on the generic pop star angle. :dancehall2:

Is she still with Atlantic? I believe Crash was her final record with them, has she renewed the contract?

ngl I always had a feeling she resigned after the success of CRASH, Charli was at odds for years with her label and then she finally got to reap the rewards when they finally started using their resources to actually support and promote her material. She literally booked SNL despite not seeing the US Hot 100 charts for years prior, got her first #1 UK and Australian album and 2 singles over 100m streams. It was a commercial resurgence after years of being labelled a "flop", who would want to leave that position again?

Charli EXPLICITLY said that In The City has nothing to do with the album? So maybe pipe down a bit.

idk I think 10 years into your career is a pretty clear indicator that she is a niche artist and would have more or less the same amount of overall success as an independent artist. It's not like A.G. is gonna stop making music with her if she went independent, or the hardcore stans are gonna stop streaming her, or her talent and penmanship is going to suddenly vanish. She's one of the few artists I could see really thriving and achieving some semblance of mainstream relevance as an independent creative. The big labels just stifle her vision and creativity.

'CRASH' was pretty successful for her standards, but not really overall. Artists make most of their money through touring these days anyway, and stans are gonna buy tickets to her theatre tour whether she's signed or not. She's made a big enough name for herself by now. A big label really has nothing to offer her imo.

And "1999" was clearly not released with the intention of it being the lead single of 'Charli' 11 months later, yet that happened. Let's not act like Charli will have the final say in that anyway. That's part of the reason why I don't think re-signing to Atlantic was the right move. :michael:

I don't think she expected it to work out as well as it did when she went into the CRASH era, I think all the "it's ironic" yelling was a safety net if it didn't work out tbh. The music industry is cut throat and I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to make the most $$ she can before she resigns back to making niche records. Further to that she's kind of in a weird spot right now because the alt electronic pop corner she came up has in is completely tapped out after 100s of artists jumped into it through 2020-2022.

I bet it's that tik toker couple she always hangs out with. Bennydrama and his boyfriend. They seem like the type.
