BGKC Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) I mean, it’s not terrible, but it is her own fault for not maximizing her potential, commercially speaking. Her name alone is enough to do solid numbers, but Renaissance having a tangible ERA with videos, more hits/singles and so on would have helped here. Taylor’s era’s tour was all about just that. Eras that people are fond of, as with any other tour that follows up a tangible, well promoted era. Renaissance, despite it being a solid success, really didn’t make that much noise outside of the queer/stan community (and continues to do just ok streaming wise). Like ppl would have still blew coin to see her tour The Gift lol, people just want to see Beyoncé, but Renaissance really could have been something much bigger, including the film. These are all films equally presented with similar prices in their respective context. If she sold an exclusive experience at similar prices to the rest you’d expect more people to go to it as it’s well known people love to feel they are richer than what they actually are. This is a bold faced lie…

Like their promo strategies different or not have the same final aim, reaching people. And clearly one does it much better than the other The list of reasons why Beyoncé and Taylor do not do similar numbers is too long to count. The fact that you expect them to means you either don’t pay close enough attention to how stats work or you’re being willfully obtuse. Beyoncé has spent more than a decade dodging almost ever promo opportunity, managing her social media presence poorly or not engaging at all, intentionally restricting the release of her music from various platforms that are essential for music to grow, and on top of that, releasing songs that simply don’t appeal to a general audience. Expecting her to do Taylor numbers when her approach has been almost the complete opposite just makes no sense. They both want (and have) success, but they don’t have the same exact goals or methods of achieving it. 1
Rv1709 Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Explain to me how the renaissance tour is the highest grossing if the movie version is way below the eras tour ? I smell fraud

aesthetic bih Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I mean it's not good, but it's not bad numbers also Taylor's tour film had a lot of hype. Beyonce didn't have so much, so it's expected to not do as well as the former..

Fleahive Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Anything Beyoncé does Taylor quadruples besides Grammys and tour sales. idk why yall are shocked. If Beyoncé is up there with the Hannah Montana, Bieber, and 1D craze while being a 42 year old black woman highlighting black gay ballroom culture and dance music 27 years into her career then she truly won imo. This is great.
spiritboy Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I used to love Taylor until i signed up here. Threads like this is the reason i’ll never listen to her again. 2 2 1

No matter how they brag about their "faves", those things will never be theirs. When you learn how to ignore such trivial things, you will realize how ridiculous stan wars are and laugh at yourself for letting them affect you on a personal level. OT: Still decent numbers for Bey. Edited December 4, 2023 by FailSafe 1

BraveNewSeth Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Y’all have got to learn at some point that if your fav isn’t Madonna, then Taylor demolishes them from a commercial standpoint It’s just a fact at this point. But the fact that Beyoncé debuted 7-8 years before Taylor did and can square up to her with fairly impressive stats herself solidifies Bey’s legend status imo. 2

Beyonce's music a artistic output is a lot more layered and refined and demands more of its audience. Taylor's audience are literal children. There is no comparison. 3 1 8
kwek_kwek Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I think one of the factors is that she released the film after the tour. So, most likely people who went to her concert did not bother to watch it in cinemas. Taylor released Eras film while she’s on tour and haven’t visited LatAm, Europe and, Australasia yet. though it’s just a small factor.
