in a recent YouGov Poll, 54% of Democrats said they wanted someone to challenge Joe Biden, while only 28% said they didn't want anyone to challenge him, and 18% said they were not sure...

However, when pollsters have put other Democratic primary candidates against Biden, the only one that consistently polls highest is Hillary Clinton.

Polls have shown that the majority of Democrats + Americans are most concerned about Biden due to his age (81 years old). The most recent poll showed that 56% of Democrats were concerned by his age, while 73% of Americans overall are concerned about his age. His likely opponent for the general election is 4 years younger than him, and Hillary Clinton is 5 years younger (and 2 years younger than Biden on the day he was elected).

If it were an option, would you prefer Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee, or are you riding with Joe?

Hilary Clinton running this country would be one of the worst things that ever happened to humanity. It's worse enough that we have Biden. The Democratic Party needs a fresh candidate. Hilary will never get a Presidency lol. Poor tink.

Her history of sending non-violent minor drug offenders to long term prison sentences springs to mind

I’d prefer Kamala, Hillary, and pretty much every other Democrat in that poll over Joe for the sole fact of their age and ability to be present in public.

Kamala is an idiot. We just need a clean slate. A fresh face. Nobody from the Biden Administration.

She was a DA. Most people who hate her dont like that she had discretion on cases for nonviolent offenses, etc., vut always went for the harshest punishments. They also neglect to add the fact that she is black and a woman, and was only AG from 2011-2017 (so prior to metoo, prior and during the BLM movement, etc.) So the stands they wanted her to take could have (1) gotten her fired and (2) gotten her disbarred if she was not acting in the best interest of the state (which in itself is complicated because you have to weigh the balance of pleasing the government vs pleasing the people, because both of those people are your bosses).

If Kamala were a white male or a black male, she would not have the same issues back then (although i could argue that as a white male in 2023, she would face a huge upswing because of how we currently view minority rights). From my personal interactions with her (she has spoken at many black attorney functions, and i got to talk with her a couple of times in lawschool and once after i graduated) she is a really nice person, and very intelligent. However, she is career focused (which most black people who are in our field were raised to be, in fear that this was our only way out.) was she a government dog? Yes. Is she evil and underhanded for doing her job. No. Does this make her an uncle tom? Debateable. However, there is a lot of nuance to Kamala’s situation, and she did not have the same options that i currently have. So ive never faulted her. (I.e as someone who grew up black, we were taught the highest we could be was the DA or a Attorney General, so im not going to fault someone 30 years my senior for creating paths out of something we did not have in the past).

But if you are going to dislike her, its basically because of her career as a DA to AG, where she went from refusing to prosecute the 3 strike rule, to being harsh on nonviolent crimes. She had some good points like refusing to go for the death penalty, creating a reentry division to help people adjust from leaving prison, and denying to defend prop 8 or the lgbt/trans defense. But all of that can be overshadowed by her record on wrongful convictions and refusing to let people out of prison.

So as you can see, she has a lot of positive and negatives. But people tend to only look at the negatives.

Neither :deadvision: Dems the reason this inflation is insane. Middle class is now working class, and us working class are one paycheck from being labeled poverty. Whoever wins ain’t gonna give us a boom in the economy, lets alone stop the division in America.

imagine the DNC finally caving to pressure, wavering at the last minute, admitting biden may actually be too weak, doing the herculean task of convincing him to put his ego aside and step down, and unveiling the only democrat who they believe can take on trump.... hillary.

I like Hillary and she would’ve been an excellent president. But Biden has a better shot against Trump than Hillary does.

id pick Whitmer from the second list.
