BrentB Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Minus the obvious (LGBT for most of us unfortunately), are there any group of people that your parents spoke down on, or cautiously about, however you got with one, or a few, of their men (even for a fling) anyway? I've topped Caucasians & a few South Asian dudes so...sorry mom . My parents never really outright disapprove of them for the record. They just have trauma & resulting trust issues from the way they've been DONE DIRTY by particular groups of people. Plus, they rather us end up with someone from our ethnicity anyway just to preserve tradition.
BANKS Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) my family despised my first boyfriend. in hindsight, i wish i had listened to their concerns because he was awfully abusive and i was so naïve! could’ve spared myself the years of trauma. Edited December 2, 2023 by BANKS
suburbannature Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Anyone I'm with that is a man is someone my dad doesn't approve of 2
Gorjesspazze9 Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 My Parents don’t pay attention to me or cared who I hang out with. But I never had friends growing up or now
GraceRandolph Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 My parents would never approve of the older men I’ve sucked and ****** obviously. 1 4
Cain Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Erm no my parents aren’t like that However they would never approve of the ages of the men I hooked up with as a teen
Redstreak Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 My parents didn’t like that I was dating someone older but now they like him
Dialamba Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I haven’t dated yet but if my mom finds out I have a thing for whites/arabs men…
dumbsparce Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Is this the 40s? Your parents don't need to know **** about your personal life. 1 1
Nightingale Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I’ve never introduced them to anyone I’ve dated but I’m sure they would disapprove of me dating guys who are 10-15 years older than me
ParisxHilton Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I once sat near a Nicki Minaj fan on an aircraft and my mother died a week later. 2

No, this is very much the 2020s sir & yes, they only know about what you tell them. That still doesn't change the fact that most of them are most likely boomers & have outdated views as a result .
DamianSolo Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I don't know if they even knew we were "dating," as I never came out and said it, but they hated the first guy I dated. They were right to, though, I was young and dumb. I'd never go for anyone like that nowadays. He was such a bum and a loser, he was attractive, though... at the time. I saw recent pics of him, and he just lost it all.

glitch Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) Oh absolutely. Literally any of the people I've dated who were either dumb or um...working class, my mother would've hated. Fortunately none of those were more than very brief encounters so she never knew about their existence Edited December 2, 2023 by glitch
JonginBey Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 My mom met my first boyfriend only, and it was at my high school graduation so it was very brief. Other than that, I’ve kept my dating life private
John Slayne Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 i'm gay so everyone i guess but i know they'd be even more upset if they knew i've slept with older men as well as men of colour. i don't feel bad about it though, i do what i want, my parents can stay pressed if they want.
needs Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Dated a guy twice my age one time. My parents did not like that.
