And they are among the GP if we’re being honest but glad to see they still have strong fandom support Yeah I think it's more of the complete opposite. I know multiple people with tickets who are definitely classed as GP and not particularly their fanbase. My sister even asked me to remind her which group Girls Aloud were before agreeing to come, and instantly said yes when I sent her the compilation of their songs and she realised she knew/liked all of them. That's what happens when you have a catalog of only hits. It doesn't matter if people didn't constantly think of them for the past decade, they are imprinted on people's memories.

diboy Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Congrats Girls! Nadines flawless vocals will slay like always 1
tbhmatt Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Girls Aloud were a decade defining girl group and were incredibly huge during their original run, now they have the added benefit of nostalgia so this isn’t a surprise at all! Such a bittersweet moment to have one of my favourite girl groups reunite, albeit without Sarah because of the cruelest and most unfair of circumstances. I just know that Sarah would be delighted the girls are doing this, so at least that’s some comfort.

You touch on a very good point there, their celebrity status definitely helped them because it certainly wasnt about the quality of their artistry or performing skills.

She looked better by let you release but the damage was done. Actually the damage was done way better when she became lazy and relied on tv shows only Instead of really work work. She worked her ass off when she first went solo. Then…. Crickets.

It was a mixture of all of it. Their celebrity status just helped them being remembered and keep them in the spotlight.

Attitude Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Not this turning into Sugababes vs Girls Aloud. Sugababes were never a touring force because they were lowkey lazy performers.
Hooker Barbie Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Trying to compare Sugababes and Girls Aloud in 2023 is pathetic, considering the groups are fans of each other. Different styles, different audiences. Girls Aloud are a big, camp arena touring band. Sugababes were never that. Just like you wouldn't see Girls Aloud on the billing for something like Boiler Room, Drumsheds or TRNSMT. 1
