You can have all these stats and more and still be forgotten. And they are among the GP if we’re being honest but glad to see they still have strong fandom support

Yeah I think it's more of the complete opposite.

I know multiple people with tickets who are definitely classed as GP and not particularly their fanbase.

My sister even asked me to remind her which group Girls Aloud were before agreeing to come, and instantly said yes when I sent her the compilation of their songs and she realised she knew/liked all of them.

That's what happens when you have a catalog of only hits.

It doesn't matter if people didn't constantly think of them for the past decade, they are imprinted on people's memories.

Girl, you hate them and you are fuming at their success. We get it, we get it.

I actually really like their music and happy for them to get their coins!

Girls Aloud were a decade defining girl group and were incredibly huge during their original run, now they have the added benefit of nostalgia so this isn’t a surprise at all!

Such a bittersweet moment to have one of my favourite girl groups reunite, albeit without Sarah because of the cruelest and most unfair of circumstances. I just know that Sarah would be delighted the girls are doing this, so at least that’s some comfort.

lol seems like it’s a one sided beef from some trying to downplay GA amazing feat. Not everybody has that and it’s difficult to get.

I think that the fact that they were more than just a music act and also were tabloid faves helped them a lot. They had an identity/face outside the group. Especially Cheryl.

You touch on a very good point there, their celebrity status definitely helped them because it certainly wasnt about the quality of their artistry or performing skills.

I hate that she released a love made me do it with that swollen face and it was about that only lol. She looked better by let you release but the damage was done. Actually the damage was done way better when she became lazy and relied on tv shows only Instead of really work work. She worked her ass off when she first went solo. Then…. Crickets.

Now wait a minute. Now you’re just shading them lmao. They are good performers and whether you like their music or not their music was always acclaimed so yeah they had everything going on. It was a mixture of all of it. Their celebrity status just helped them being remembered and keep them in the spotlight.

Sorry but I saw them live at the Out of Control tour and it was the worst show I have ever seen, still today. They are terrible performers. Nadine can sing and Cheryl can dance, but thats it.

Their celebrity definitely is what made them, not their artistry, come on...

They could do a one off show at the Greek Theater. Probably won't happen though. :skull:

Not this turning into Sugababes vs Girls Aloud. Sugababes were never a touring force because they were lowkey lazy performers.

Trying to compare Sugababes and Girls Aloud in 2023 is pathetic, considering the groups are fans of each other. Different styles, different audiences.

Girls Aloud are a big, camp arena touring band. Sugababes were never that. Just like you wouldn't see Girls Aloud on the billing for something like Boiler Room, Drumsheds or TRNSMT.

very true, i was originally planning to go alone but then several of my coworkers who never mention pop music said that they will be getting tickets too. i think because they're not active anymore people don't talk about them but they are in everyone's 00s playlist.
