People really paying £200+ for GIRLS ALOUD tickets???!!!... Damn...

I went to the Out of Control tour back in the day and wanted to ask for my money back! They are basically a Live at Butlins-type of act with a bit more budget. It isn't worth it girlies

Didn't the Sugababes do theatres and only one arena date? I didn't realise Girls Aloud were so much more popular than them :chick2:

Sugababes one arena show wasn’t even sold out, it was a curtained off affair. :toofunny2:

These iconic LEGENDS though. :clap3: no-one is touching them.

I discovered Girls Aloud from that iconic interview Nicola Roberts did with Lady Gaga  Since then I bop to their music every once in a while. Untouchable is such a beautiful pop song.

no, Sugarbabes are more popular but Most people don't want to see Sugarbabes 1.0, they want to see Heidi range

Happy for them. 29 UK/Ireland dates is huge.

I get that they were only popular in the British isles but damn, I wish they toured elsewhere too cause I would love to see them live. Happy for them tho!

This is kinda crazy I had no idea that they were still popular bc ngl they gave me forgotten girl group of the 2000’s.

I guess Cheryl’s solo success boosted their legacy.

They have 2 #1 albums, 7 albums that are at least platinum, and 20 consecutive top 10 singles including 4 #1’s (21 top 10’s in total) :rip:

They’re hardly forgotten based on their stats alone.

Nobody thinks this :rip: Even with Heidi, Sugababes are not selling out a full arena tour, they never cultivated a strong core fanbase or built themselves a touring reputation like the Girls did.

come on now there’s room for both Sugababes and Girls Aloud to exist and thrive :turkey:

i love them both, went to see GA on their Tangled Up tour in 2007 it was a really fun time! I’m glad to see they’re back

In their original run Girls Aloud did over 100 arena shows, Sugababes under 20.

not exactly. musically, sugababes are a lot more relevant - bigger hits and remembered hits that are still played.

girls aloud had celebrity status and consistency. it happens to have translated better to a strong brand and touring base for GA.

both are very successful :campfire:

To be fair, Sugababes have better streaming stats cause they had some singles that did become hits outside UK/IE unlike the Girls'. Also better playlist support in general, when GA's only song that has had decent playlist support has been Love Machine.
