znake Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Downgrade , maybe because the nostalgia , I prefer Original versions
Jotham Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Aside from a few songs like WANEGBT, the re-releases are upgrades imo.
Cameltoe Chariot Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I've found a few of them like Fearless TV and Red TV to be decent, but the 1989 TV is god awful
Strawberry Bubble Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 it depends on the album. Red TV is 100% an upgrade for me, specially holy ground.
Blade Runner Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 (edited) ATRL don't even listen to her and is constantly praying for her downfall, but it's here talking out of its ass about a "downgrade". lol Edited November 30, 2023 by Blade Runner 1
Vespertine Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 BOTCHED But the Red TV vault tracks changed my life, so at least there’s that.
on the line Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 As a newer fan (started during rep), they are definitely upgrades (except for Speak Now). I understand if you are nostalgic as an old fan, but the TVs are the better album by far.
Bosque Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Most of them are upgrades or on the same level its funny how most people who always call them downgrades are usually Taylor haters, like what are you even doing listening to those songs so much that you can pick out the minute differences.
flashfox Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I only listened to the 1989 TV and it was a massive downgrade.
Galah Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Sidegrade. I think it’s too mixed to definitely rule it one or the other. 1
SoSickOfThatSOL Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 An upgrade! I became a fan since folklore and started revisiting her past discography besides the singles for the first time ever. I really disliked 1989 and the only other album that loved was Red. When the re-recording process started I loved almost every single song. The production improved and the grown vocals elevated the song. Now I even like the too-pop 1989 (TV). Also, nothing’s perfect in life, there’s always something that we won’t like. For me, they’re minimum, the botched: WANEGBT, New Romantics and SIO.
aesthetic bih Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I like certain aspects of the TV but imo not a complete replacement. I still try my best to stream the TVs more though
LSD Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 There’s nothing unique or special about Taylor’s version. It’s a cash grab 1
Alexz Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Downgrade. Specially the oldest where her voice was young and fresh.
RobynYoBank Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 The quality of the recordings are higher (especially Fearless, Red), but the minutiae in the delivery of the originals is often not replicated. They both have their charm. 1989 is the exception - it is simultaneously the rerecording that sounds the most similar to the original on most sound systems, and under closer scrutiny sounds worse than the original IMO.
Bey_Rihstan Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 1989 TV is the only one i've listened to and the OG is better production wise
Klein Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Most of the songs are either upgraded or the same (which is the whole point). There's a few songs that were botched though: WANEGBT, IKYWT, GAH, BTR, Mean and Style.
loveisdead9582 Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 For me, it’s a mixed bag. Each album had some that were better, some that I enjoyed the same, and some that were downgrades.
Taylor fanboy Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Upgrade. The misses are growers (e.g. WANEGBT, Style).
GreatestLoveofAll Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 ... well the Love Story TV is superior ill say that!
