Nobody cares if movie is woke. The problem was that they were horrible

They've lost the plot entirely. Good luck Disney :dies:

Well this was actually a great statement. Focus on the story first like Walt did, and the messages will come naturally.

Flop era :bibliahh:

That’s what you nasty b*tches get for making 9163920 live action remakes and rehashing the same sh*tty “quirky” characters over and over again. :fan:

We’re tired of the same old ****, give us new INNOVATIVE content :coffee2:

And the movie is being panned. :rip: It also needs to be GOOD.

What is their plan? To only make movies with white straight characters? We live in strange times. In a time where it is controversial to have non-white or LGBT characters. Where is this society heading?

It’s so funny how right wingers will look at the dystopian effects of capitalism and then scream WOKE!!!!11!1!11

1) I’m not a right winger.

2) I’m indifferent about ‘wokism’ and whatever falls under that umbrella. There’s not denying that Disney has been pushing that agenda (or atleast the virtue signaling aspect of it) in its products during the last 3 years. Whether it’s the reason for the decline of quality is a matter that time will determine.

LoL at this CEO saying "positive message" is the reason why their products don't sell as much as they used to when the true reason is that they are just ****, lazy and repetitive :bibliahh:

Funny that, rather than focus on the quality and making quality films, they want to run with the wokism spiel.

Though, to be fair, with maybe the exception of Encanto and some others, how they handled it was always cringe.

Audiences don't have problems with authentic stories that say something, while also representing the audiences watching it. The problem is when that representation is so forced and comes off as just manufactured and only for "PC" sake.

Make diverse stories because they matter and are just as deserving, not just to check a box and then pat yourself on the back. That's what they don't get. :doc:

see when you let insane conservatives win :rip:

Black Panther, Coco, Encanto, the Aladdin remake among others were all massively successful, made them billions of dollars and were all about non-white characters... but the second they start flopping, suddenly it's all our fault? :biblionny: We can never win.

lmao how can a  corporate brand be progressive

We need Disney to go through another flop era like they did from the 60s-80s, so they can go back to the drawing board and come up with some fresh ideas

It's not like they are doing new stories. Wish is just the same thing we've seen.

Moana did great too. They lost it.

They lost billions of dollars, the trust of millions of dedicated audiences and their reputation. Money talks above all. Wokism lost.

It never ceases to amaze me, how passionately grown adults project their negative worldview onto kids movies.

"Wokism," :bibliahh:be serious.

This was the golden era of Disney, anything beyond that shouldn't have happened

You do realise that the highest grossing movie of the year (which is also the 14th highest grossing of all time) was getting backlash from Conservatives for being too "woke", right? :toofunny3:
