Comparing critical acclaim for a pop album from 2004 and one from 2023 is not meaningful. It’s an objective fact that critical scores for pop music have gone up by a tremendous amount since BA.

“Breakaway” made Kelly. Prior to that, no-one was here for debut era RnB Kelly. With Olivia, “Guts” was just giving more of the same to her audience.
