There'd be a line that would make me stop and consider ''hmm this isn't a good sign" but I'd brush it off and here we are. Then Tolerate It confirmed it for me But Tolerate It is about Rebecca, and actually fits the source material so well. While I think she could potentially relate to some of the feelings from the song, I truly don't feel like the power imbalance she describes fits Taylor and Joe's relationship at all.

While I think she could potentially relate to some of the feelings from the song, I truly don't feel like the power imbalance she describes fits Taylor and Joe's relationship at all. Both of elements of real life and fiction can be intertwined. It was the "While you were out buildin' other worlds, where was I? (building worlds can be construed as acting) Where's that man who'd throw blankets over my barbed wire? (this one was an instant recall to invisible string's "Something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire"). So I don't think the whole song is about it but considering some of the themes in Bejewled, You're Losing Me and even Sweet Nothing (which I think is a sad song but that's another discussion), it wouldn't be far-fetched to say there were definitely some hints about their relationship struggles in evermore. I forgot to add the main source of worry which is Peace. The way she talked about him like he only existed on a pedestal above her while being completely self-blaming and basically having these anxious questions that should've been addressed by that point in a long-term relationship. Anyway, just my two cents I don't wanna go off topic lol Edited November 29, 2023 by Mandalore 1

cruelhprince Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 1. FINALLY. I love this song so much 2. I hate that this was released as a standalone single like AOTG. Taylor girl you're smarter than this

Gladiator Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 (edited) I will give it a few listens before I decide. On initial listen, I think I need more time with it. 5 hours ago, Boysdontcry said: Why couldn’t this of just been on Midnights TTD Edition You don't like Karma feat. Ice Spice??? HandsToMyself Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 (edited) Slower songs usually aren’t my favourite but I’ve loved this since May. My favourite parts are the “Always rising from the ashes, Mending all her gashes” and “Now you’re running down the hallway, And you know what they all say” melody in the pre choruses. That melody is just so soft and beautiful to me for some reason and really brings the lyrics and frustration of the situation to life Edited November 29, 2023 by HandsToMyself
houndsoflove Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 2021 ouu she was done with joe for a WHILE

Maroonx Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 are the streams for this going to count towards Midnights' stream on the BB200?
KarmaCat Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Maybe she released this for the Grammy AOTY campaign of Midnights. This is one of her MOST BEAUTIFUL and heartbreaking songs, like ever.
Michael196 Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 king coming with the receipts that this is in fact a vault track, and wasn't done earlier this year...
