Is this the biggest slip up by the 2017-2020 MPGs?

Almost 50m views and yet the flop that was

…was released.  Truly baffled me back then, and still baffles me how she sabotaged herself when everyone wanted SLC as the next single(GP + fans + haters alike).

One of her first big backlashes not related to racism

SLC wasn't a single? I remember them playing it on the radio all the time :deadbanana2:

Yup. The benefit of the digital/streaming era is it’s allowed for the charts to be a real time focus group for next singles. It being the only non-single (at the time) off the album to chart nowhere should’ve immediate flagged for its potential.

And thank God! Imaging living in a world where Camila Cabello is a successful pop star that's everywhere :biblio:

It actually did feel like she was on the brink of becoming an MPG for a moment there

I liked this song and Never Be The Same at the time, but I'm not sure it was ever gonna happen for her like that

Imagine a ***** kind of video like te amo for SLC. I so lived for that track back then. She truly sabotaged herself. Not sure why she tried so hard to become a slow/mid tempo pop girl.

she shouldve released into it as the final single and called it a day :WAP:

Yes to SLC but no to MPG

I came in here expecting to see Kesha

She kinda sabotaged herself by going back to the 2010s pop with High Road after the adult contemporary/singer songwriter/country/rock album Rainbow

She really shouldve released that folk album she teased instead of High Road smh.

Yes. I get why she was so against it though. She didn’t want to be pigeonholed as the Latina girl. It was a risk to try to go a singer songwriter route and it unfortunately backfired on her

SLC definitely should’ve been the follow up to Havana.

she was everywhere during 2018

the hate yall got for that girl lol

She's an idiot that loves to sabotage her career wbk

she wanted so badly to be the next taylor swift singer-songwriter type but all she did was clown herself with the poser sadgirl lyricism

nonetheless the debut era was so weird, flopped launch, double singles for some reason, OMG was chosen on day one by playlist before casuals took it back, NBTS with kane brown??, SLC on this thread, sangria wine challenge???, consequence symphony?

all her three eras were so messy but SLC deserves to get tiktoked some day. :gaycatney3:

The way that album is a SMASH after SMASH and they went with what?? Consequences??

She Loves Control

Inside Out

Real Friends

Into It

Especially REAL FRIENDS.. I still think it couldve been her "LOVE YOURSELF"

She truly dropped the ball by not releasing that bop but going with Sangria Whine first and then a second time with Consequences :rip:

Her debut era should've been

1. Havana

2. Never Be The Same

3. She Loves Control

4. Something's Gotta Give
