discussion Other Panem stories you'd like to see?

With the success of Olivia Rodrigo's The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes chronicling President Snow's childhood, what are some other stories you'd like to see explored in the Panem Cinematic Universe? 

 

 

I went into this film semi-blind (I wasn't aware there would be a games depicted) and I realized I missed seeing the games and the associated fanfare on the screen. I think I'd enjoy seeing a depiction of Haymitch's games - the second quarter quell! How about you?

• Haymitch's Games (I know the second book already covered it but I'd love an entire book/movie dedicated to it)
• Mags's Games
• the first Quarter Quell
• past Hunger Games about victors from districts we know little about, like 9 and 10
• rebuilding Panem after the Second Rebellion

What happened before the epilogue. Like, those years of Katniss and Peeta recovering each other.

I kind of want to see the proposed 76th Hunger Games with Capitol kids. Maybe some group goes rogue and decides to abduct a bunch of kids to conduct it.

It'd be cool to see a story about careers, like a psychoanalysis of these kids that are raised to be killing machines

The 25th Hunger Games for several reasons: 

 

It’s probably Snow’s last year as a gamemaker or first year as President so we can get a good bit of info on how he rose to power. 
We can see where the games have evolved to at this point 

We have no idea who won. All we know is they’re dead by the 3rd quarter quell. 
Suzanne can do a good bit of writing about the rise of fascism/consolidating power/rise of a murderous dictatorship. 
We can see if Tigris and Snow’s relationship has soured yet. 
Maybe get the chance to explore another district. 
And I actually think a good protagonist (if it has to be someone we’ve met before) would be a young adult Plutarch. Just to see how he starts to lay the groundwork for the future revolution.

I also don’t think we’ll ever get the 50th games because we already know what happens and I doubt Collins will write a hunger games novel only as a source of entertainment. And I bet she has something contractually that prevents Lionsgate from making any HG content unless she signs off on it.

Second quarter quell would be interesting, would also be a lot more action packed since there would be double the tributes

 

I don't want another district 12 story though outside of that, I'd prefer to explore the other districts. I wouldn't even mind a spoof documentary where the leads are a camera crew that explores the entire lore of the games as opposed to one specific story. There is so much world building that could be done

I need to see all the games from the very first one, but I know that would be kinda hypocritical considering the main point of the trilogy. But I still want it tho.

I need them to finish off the Snow backstory, now focusing on him being under Gaul’s wing, his rise to game maker and then president.

I want to see the game where the arena was extremely beautiful but everything was like toxic

Annie Cresta's games. Mags and Finnick doing everything in their power as mentors to help her win. Her losing her mind. Its a very tragic story and maybe just maybe with enough character work for Collins to be interested in writing it.

 

Id love to see the second quarter quell but I dont see her writing it. Same for other winners we know and like like Beete or Joana Mason cause itd be mostly just pointless spectacle unlesd she hides a thesis on politics/war into the text like shes done with Songbirds and Snakes and the original trilogy lol

I'd love more exploration of the other districts set across varying games. Something for the second quarter quell following characters from like the 7th, 9th, or 10th districts would be interesting to help build the world further.

I think this is what they’re going to focus on and there are some rumors that they will do a haymitch one

  The second quarter was the year haymitch participated in and it had 48 participants instead of 24

Basically it was a similar world to the one we currently live in

If they do anything with the series I would want them to go past the original trilogy.  I think it would be interesting to tell a trilogy that is a tragedy as we watch the Democratic Panem descend into fascism.

Honestly I’d see a movie on Coin and her rise to become leader of district 13, and what happened to 13 after the war. Maybe even some district people ended up running away and joining 13. Idk District 13 has always intrigued me

i also want a physical comedy where the protagonist is an overconfident district 1 tribute who is so quirky and uncoordinated her career allies break up with her and try killing her but she just has the most insane plot armor and wins in the most comedic final destination type way
