dillan Posted February 16 Posted February 16 THE CAMEOS!!! Just proves how many friends she has in this industry 1
Mokichi Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Just finished the movie ! I loved it but it is so short omg I wish it was longer this is amazing... The Rebound part got me shook it was SO PERSONAL and breathtaking to share this part of her story 2
Scandalous Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) posted about it in the album’s thread but idk it was cute and fun and i love that it was a homage to movie musicals, but the way it was marketed made me think it was like a beyoncè type of visual album where there would be a video for every song, so i was disappointed she only used 6 or 7 songs in it and 2 of them were shortened. I get why she wanted to incorporate dialogue and story but it was all kinda corny and the dreadful green screening was really awful JLO looked AMAZING in it tho and all the musical parts were great. kimmy P can not act to save her life tho, idk why she was in it next to actual actors Edited February 16 by Scandalous
insomniac Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Just finished the film as well. Honestly I’m shook at this whole album and film. This must’ve been an epic undertaking. Rebound got me. This was so clearly about Marc. The hint was his drinking and being very controlling, as media and blind items have said throughout the years. The relationship was abusive. The sequence with her and little Jenny. I almost cried and I never get emotional with films. The metaphor of self-love and acceptance I wasn’t expecting but rings very true to her. The heart factory starting back up after that was such a moment. For the tour, at first I didn’t understand the whole poster promo pic having her look like Tomb Raider but now it makes so much sense. I have a feeling the concert is going to revolve around the “heart factory” and she’s gonna reenact a lot of stuff from the movie. And then pair it with some older songs too perhaps even from This Is Me… Then? I also really loved Dear Ben Pt 1 playing in the background in the scene at her house. The zodiac council and all the cameo’s! Keke Palmer, Jane Fonda and surprisingly Post Malone were such standouts. But I loved all of the cameos. Kim Petras being all silly, lol. Bravo at connecting the story through them. I hope she gets all the flowers for this. Sure there’s some minor flaws, but it was a nice watch. Especially as a fan. Hopefully it resonates with the general public too! And now, if you are a casual fan or not at all and enjoyed the film. Please be so kind to support the project, tell your friends, buy the vinyl(s) and stream the music. She deserves rewards for her hard work on this epic Love Story!
Rocket Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Just finished it. The concept is unique, but the story and how it's pieced together is pretty lacklustre. Kudos to her for trying something new, but I just don't think this is as amazing as she wants us to believe it is. Side note: Kim Petras was not needed. Talk about a useless cameo.
Hector Posted February 16 Posted February 16 This was great, the visuals were amazing And there are songs that sound so much better with the visuals than without like Rebound, the title track, and Hearts & Flowers. Spoiler Who else was shook that Ben Affleck was Rex Stone under the prosthetics? The Singin' In The Rain tribute for Hummingbird was cute.
livelikemusic Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Annie Lennox/Eurythmics began the visual album, Beyoncé revived it, and Jennifer Lopez perfected it. This film is.... wow. 1
Tudors Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I really liked the part with the glass house but couldn't care less about the dialog then turned it off and fell asleep 2
RIKI232 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Ok just finished this and ...WOW!!! The cinematography, the choreography, the fashion & styling, the visuals!!! So rich and lush the CGI looks natural too and not overly done. Wish it was screened on theaters in IMAX. I agree it was too short but I Love love love this woman and this movie. gonna watch it again later for sure P.s - Kim Petras being there is so random lol

CosTaSsSs Posted February 16 Posted February 16 This was so good!! Rebound was amazing, same goes for Hearts & Flowers/This Is Me... Now, but also Hummingbird! Actually everything was amazing!! 1
SinnerCity Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Alright, so hear me out. I've just finished watching the film and didn't listen to the album because I wanted to experience the whole thing and honestly, it's good! My comments: - The storyline is amazing, is relatable and it's Jennifer doing what she does best that it's entertaining, she SOLD the whole thing, especially the part where she finally understands everything and heals her inner child. - The Zodiac thing seemed a little forced, it could've been done a bit differently and maybe it'd because I'm an astrologer I noticed a lot of misconceptions about the signs and stuff - I liked the music, it felt genuine so I'll check the album now to see how it flows. Other than that, it was good! And I hope she gets her flowers and I understand why she feels this is somehow the end, it just feels right, it feels unique, it feels mature.
Dark Phoenix Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Love the film, wish there was more dialogue or like a real musical stitching the songs but it ok, I feel like the first half was amazing and very cinematic, but the second half felt kinda just like music videos one after another and the end felt rushed. I guess she had a main idea a lots of concepts (the heart machine fed with petals, the Zodiac council, the friends each with a personality) but it was too much to handle and play. Still this felt like so amazing like I want this to be the new way of releasing videos and albums, like each album should have this type of movie showcasing the music. Could it be that she’s in for an Emmy and Grammy for best Long video??
yonsé Posted February 17 Posted February 17 this was fun to watch. don't love the album but jenny did great. i love a good j.lo movie so im surprised she didn't do this sooner.
PopMusicJunkie Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I enjoyed but also wished it were longer and all album tracks were used. I watched this first before diving into the album and was really loving what I was hearing and seeing.
rihannasbe$tfrnd Posted February 17 Posted February 17 That was terrible, I certainly won’t be listening to the rest of the album if those are the best songs to highlight the album
Venom Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Not me watching this today, thinking it was an actual movie, then thinking it was a musical, and finally realizing it was actually an album visualizer. That being said, as a movie, I was left with questions and desired more out of it. However, for an album release, this was genius and a very innovative idea going forward for music artists.
