Beyoncè reveals that 11 year old Blue Ivy read hate comments about her performance

You're comparing a popstar world tour to a dance recital. It's not the same

You're right, it's not the same because people feel especially empowered by the anonymity of the internet and the access they have to celebrities to share any negative opinion they want, even if its about a child, even if it's about a child's first time performing in front of a stadium of fans, and the amount of people writing on a wall at a recital would be non-existent compared to the thousands or even millions of comments that might appear about a celebrity kid on the internet.

But a comparison can still be made, even though no one would write something nasty on the wall about a kid after a recital.

The point is that no one needs to coddle Blue Ivy, and of course we don't know what she read exactly, but there is a difference between giving a child criticism and criticizing a child. The amount of truly nasty, disparaging, often racist and cruel comments about her go far beyond the bounds of "well she's a celebrity kid she should get used to it". If that were the case, then we could say no star ever has been mistreated by the public, the media, or whatever, simply because their fame makes them exempt from mistreatment. Is that the case? There's no real excuse for such disgusting behaviour. If you wouldn't do it to a kid you know locally, why do it to a kid you know that is a celebrity? Clearly it's just as possible for it to get back to them.

Also, plenty of celebrity kids have participated in their parents' work before and I don't think many would have had the amount of hate that Blue Ivy has had either now, or prior.

Proving that bullying unfortunately works, you can either sit there and cry about comments about people you don't know or let it fuel you to improve yourself. Her first performances weren't good and very low energy, even bored, I'm sure she would agree looking back at them now. And don't give me that 'she's 11 years old', bullsht because there are 6 year old kids who dance amazingly and give it their ALL, it's all about the energy you bring. Anyways, the difference between the first and last show is astronomical. She showed everyone :clap3:

I don't think she looked bored or low energy. She looked timid. Since you compare her to six-year-olds, you can see videos of her around the age of six performing for her school and she's far more in the moment and confident and that's likely because she's surrounded by her peers, performing at her school and for families not a stadium of nearly 70,000 fans in a foreign country for the first time ever.

But yes, I am glad she, the Capricorn she is, took the critiques and worked hard to prove them wrong.

Tbh i don’t want to call Blue a “queen” or whatever. She is a CHILD. Not a queen or a king or whatever. I feel sad for her because she works very very hard and i hope that she can enjoy her childhood. Those times don’t comeback and reading nasty things by people who don’t know you can cause serious damage. If i was a superstar like Beyonce i would NOT put my daughter so much in front. Not everyone has to see her :biblio:

i look at all those kids who grew up infront of the cameras like miley selena demi britney etc. and NONE of them are happy about it.

The difference is that Blue Ivy is not a child star. Her income does not support her family, and she has never once starred in a film, tv show, put out an album or even released one song (aside being a guest appearance on her parents' tracks), etc. etc. etc. These are all things she could have done very easily by now.

Your comment makes it out as if working is the only thing she does, and has been doing. That has not been her life, at least from what we see. Beyoncé, on the other hand, is someone who worked very hard as a child, so I'm sure she is very aware of the limits and sacrifices she'll allow Blue to take insofar as "working" as a kid.

I also think Beyoncé and Jay-Z have clearly learnt from Blue that letting the world have some sort of access to their children can result in nastiness to mere babies, and so we see that the twins have enjoyed far more anonymity than Blue Ivy ever had.

And all this is without mentioning that Blue asked to do this and was told "no" at first.
