I think it’s absolutely possible, but it would require for her to go all out with a great video, some sort of realistic promotion and a committed team that secures radio deals and playlisting. She could no longer do it on hype and name alone like she used to in the early 10’s, though nowadays anything can happen chart wise.

It’s an interesting discussion though, we can give them that. I do believe Spears could definitely get one if she wanted too. Though she commented that she has no intentions to make her career a priority and is retired from the industry.

Sure. She's still one of the most famous people of all time. If she releases a great song and video then it could go #1. Equally, she has a great discography and legacy so a big name DJ might decide to remix one of her old songs or someone better than will.i.am might do a collab with her. Anything's possible.

It would require the right song, the right feature and a lot of work on her part that I don't think she's willing to put in. She had so much hype after the end of the conservatorship which was wasted on Hold Me Closer and again after the book came out but she seems completely unwilling to capitalize on it or do anything revolving around her career so I'm afraid that ship has sailed. As long as she's happy.
