I'll tell you who looks a mess, it's the gooners in here who don't know how lighting works. Beyoncé looks gorgeous, and the hair color looks gorgeous on her. She's giving Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones icy ***** type vibes - love it :WAP:

Beyoncé serving us a little cunty Galadriel moment this year was very much needed  :jonny5:

She looks great just not like Beyonce

I think that's the point... she was trying something different that we don't necessarily expect from her.

I don't see it as insecurity about her appearance per se. If you look at the closeup, she still has a visible laugh-line/makeup crease, so they clearly weren't going all-out with retouching, and as someone who has done retouching before, fixing a blemish, removing a wrinkle or even doing more intense stuff like altering the shape of someone's face is really not that hard or nor time consuming if it's not an editorial print cover...which this certainly is not... in fact the photographs are a bit low-quality if you ask me.

But whether the image was delayed to retouch or not, there's just no way Beyoncé was ever going to say "So, I'll go in, you photograph me. Pick whatever images you want. I don't care which shots you use. Just post them immediately." Obviously she's at the very least going to want approval on selects, its an image that is going to last of HER at HER premiere, and going into a 2.5 hour film plus time before and after for greeting and mingling, she's not going to be over the photographer's shoulder during the film or after looking at every shot and discussing which to post. She's hopefully enjoying herself with the loved ones she's invited, sharing in the fruits of HER/their labour.

But we can agree to disagree because just because I'm fine with certain things doesn't mean others have to be, and I get that. I just don't think that whatever other non-music venture she does is going to flop because she took five hours to upload a photo, or whatever. And if it does, so be it. Because the most important thing is the quality of the work/things she puts out, not the things she does to promote it.

You are rationalising her thought process. I still find it worrisome. We can agree to disagree. I don’t know that there is a middle ground between our perspectives. Thanks for the civility though.

The hair was kinda serving 2004 DC hair but without the touches of ombre that made it look [a little] more natural, and a little less pigmentation. she went full Khaleesi, whom we know she loves, has referenced, and has even bought memorabilia of.

I do try to put myself in her shoes, because so often fans expect her to be doing everything they wish for her, never what she seems to choose for herself.

Ah here. When was the last time Beyonce chose the wish of the fans over her prerogative?

Probably when she made CUFF IT a single.

Or if we assume she's listening, when she released a new poster and two new trailers for the film this month.

She looks great as always, but it's clear that something is different.

She skipped the red carpet probably to avoid question about it if we're being real.

She hasnt aged the last 5 years or so lol! she looks amazing

Also I LOVE when a popgirl actually takes a risk look wise and she did and it paid off. I actually hope she makes this look iconic by filming a music video with THIS look. It needs to be documented in her videography :jonny2: She doesn't go outside her comfort zone fashion wise all that much (especially in terms of hair color) so I REALLY need this to be a look for a music video or performance or something big

She looks good, just didn't realize it was Beyonce at first scrolling through Social media i thought it was Gaga at first.

Well you got me there. Nothing screams oppression louder than an artist releasing a second single or film trailers. Poor Beyonce. :dancehall:

I've not once said she was oppressed. I've never said "poor Beyoncé" in this situation or anything like it. Perhaps you wanted to catch me in something that didn't work out, so now you've altered or misunderstood my response, but that is not what I said.

To clarify:
She didn't just release a second single at the fans' request. A second single was coming regardless. She changed the song chosen as second single after fans' took issue with the first choice(s). This is just about as big a fan-intervention as you can get, actually altering the course of the era and selecting the song that is officially released to the public as a single.

And the fans were right about it too. I have no problem with listening to fans. I think that's great. However, I do not think this needs to be the baseline in every situation. I also understand that at this point in her career after being a certified legend for nearly a decade and after she herself has stated "I have nothing to prove", that if she takes a few hours to upload a photo it's not that big of a deal.

My original argument wasn’t about how long it takes her to post a photo. It’s about being hyper cognisant of her image to the extent that can’t bear to be seen having her photo taken in real time at her own event. If you think it’s no big deal, that’s valid. I felt strongly enough to post about it, so I did. Would you rather I kept mum?

The comment about her compromise is obviously sarcasm. I can’t, with a straight face, lump those as sacrifices on Beyonce’s part.

No matter what I levy against, it seems you’ll rationalise it away. We are subscribed to separate schools of thoughts essentially.

I do not want you to "keep mum", I just want to offer the other possible side of the coin. Would you rather I didn't?

I certainly have been rationalizing things. I've never denied it but I've done so to balance the rationalizing already shown. In explaining your original argument you've declared she "can't bear to be seen having her photo taken in real time". Is this not rationalizing? How do you know this outside of your own assumptions?

imo there is a big difference between having control of a process for how your image is shared as the figurehead of your brand and quaking at the idea of letting people see you in real time.

anyway, I love a good debate and appreciate civility like this, so apologize if it ever seems too much (based on your words I don't think so but just wanted to say this).

So annoying how people still don’t get that black people can look completely different in different lightings and seasons. The ignorance. :rip:

one of her best ever looks, she looks AI

Even if she did want to look lighter what's the issue? People focus to much on racism to much, white people shouldn't look or dress a certain way because its offensive, black people shouldn't look or dress a certain way because it's offensive..

If someone wanted to look darker or lighter there entitled to do what ever they like!

Everything offends or bothers someone...

And yeah she does Look light skinned on these pics, its clearly the lighting, she looks great that's all that matters.
