The release of the singles was messy. Vampire was still smashing when she moved on to Bad Idea Right and Get Him Back. I actually think GHB could've been a huge hit if it was released as the second single a week before the album. I'm not so keen on BIR.

 

I know it's the least streamed but I think Teenage Dream could do well.

Again, Olivia's soundtrack song is yet to impact pop radio, hence it is not considered a single by Olivia's own stans. Or are we backpedalling now?

Who cares if its not on radio yet. It had a music video and was released as a seperate song before the soundtrack came out by olivia herself. Its a single awaiting radio airplay.

I personally never thought Olivia and pop rock were a good match. To me there's something forced about it, as if it's not coming naturally to her. That's why I didn't click with 'GUTS' as much and why even "good 4 u" didn't age well. This type of sound gets old very quickly.

her current spotify singles are both top 35 on global spotify and the last two radio singles are 46 and 80 on radio. i fail to see anything "OUT" anywhere. stay in school, sweetums

OT: There seems to to be a some disconnect between what she really wants to do versus what the GP wants from her  She seems insistent on keeping this non-commercial, rock-star Avril-esque persona but her fans & the general public seem to prefer the slower songs, CCMN likely shaping up to be bigger than any of the non-Vampire GUTS singles will just further proves my point. Interested to see how she approaches this dynamic with the next album

The song is barely a month old. Not the flex you think it is either. Nor is it a hit by any means.

Yeah the public just doesn’t click with pop rock Olivia. G4U came at the right time of the 2021 punk revival but that sound is already out of fashion again, just look at the mediocre recurrents for G4U versus the ballads from Sour.

 

But then again, none of the Guts ballads are clicking either. Her streaming power outside of the US has also massively waned this year. I think it comes down to low replay value and less tabloid intrigue in her.

It's not a flex. If a song that according to you is not even a single is currently charting at #34 it means there's still enough interest from the public in Olivia's songs. And if it wasn't even sent to radio maybe it'll chart higher once it gets sent and becomes an 'official' single
