Kevin2803 Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I got into "Twin Peaks" because it's the favorite show of a friend and i just finished season 2 a few weeks ago (although it took me forever to get through the second half). They should've never intervened with David Lynch' vision and forced him to reveal Laura's killer, atleast not so early. I watched "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" in cinema and it was a religious experience. Such a fantastic movie. 1

I loved the scenes with JJL and Tim Roth. I also remember the actress playing Candy (I think?) gave a fantastic performance. The atomic bomb episode was crazy. And I also vaguely remember a scene in a prison setting in episode 2 or 3 that gave me one of the biggest nightmare fuel visuals ever but I'm not sure anymore if I just imaged it or not because no one ever talks about that scene

Niemira Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Got a light episode from the returning is another level. 8th I guess
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted November 24, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted November 24, 2023 I know David has said he never really intended for the killer’s identity to be revealed but I do think that episode in season 2 is amazing. Obviously a lot of season 2 is… questionable but the few bright spots are very bright Justice for Audrey though, will never get over her ultimate fate. I’ve been sitting on The Secret History of Twin Peaks (the first one not the second) and want to read it but am so intimidated by the size of it. I’m also considering reading Laura’s Diary novel thingy. I miss the show so much 1

Ponzi Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Best show ever (including s2 and the Return), and that's that on that. 1
sunbathinganimal Posted November 26, 2023 Author Posted November 26, 2023 i never realised Bobby's mom wears a smiley face pin to Laura's funeral
LikeaRebel Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 I just finished a rewatch of the original series! I’m contemplating watching the revival but I hated it the first time so I don’t know.. 1

I will say after some initial disappointment upon my first watch (as it was airing), I re-watched it with a friend a few months later and really fell in love with it. I'm gonna start a re-watch soon, sometime in December methinks. 1
McNulty Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 The Return was great, you guys are reaching 1 1

AccioMiley Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Got into twin peaks in 2016 bc of my sister. Truly fantastic and iconic. I need to do a rewatch
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted November 30, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted November 30, 2023 Watched episode 2 & 3 last night and WHEW the feelings Bob will forever be so unnerving. Side note: tell me why I completely forgot that our introduction to the red room occurs at the end of episode 3 It’s been a while, but I thought it came much later and was shook watching that sequence late last night
stjosephprey4us Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Season 1 > The Return >>>>>> Season 2 btw can someone please explain to me in idiot’s terms what the ending of the Return means (you can put it in a spoiler if you want)? My main questions are Spoiler What happened to Audrey? Is her whole storyline that season happening in her head? What does Laura whisper in Cooper’s ear this time? And what did Laura and Cooper realize at the end when the lights went out?
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted December 4, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted December 4, 2023 Onto Season 2, just finished episode 3 last night. I forgot how freaking good Season 2 is prior to the reveal. These episodes are just as good (and I’d argue maybe even a bit better) than some from season 1. It’s a shame the season becomes so inconsistent after, but that’s a conversation for when I get there lol

My main questions are Reveal hidden contents What happened to Audrey? Is her whole storyline that season happening in her head? What does Laura whisper in Cooper’s ear this time? And what did Laura and Cooper realize at the end when the lights went out? There are some really interesting and somewhat accessible theories online, I’ll try to dig some up if I find any worth mentioning. Spoiler The Audrey stuff is heavily debated. Some people think she’s in a coma from the events of season 2 (the bomb going off), some people think she’s in a mental facility, and others think she’s been trapped in some kind of black-lodge-esque place. Mark Frost confirmed she survived the bomb and was in a coma for a couple weeks but beyond that it’s hard to say any definitive answer as to what really happened. Purportedly Sherilynn was not pleased with her initial role in The Return and asked that David rewrite it kind of on the spot which could explain why her arc is not well established. The whisper: we… don’t know. Lots of speculation that it has something to do with Dale wanting to save Laura and Laura telling him that their fates are sealed. Which might explain why, in that final scene, Laura screams because regardless of universe, dream, time travel, etc. it’ll always end with Laura traumatized and killed and Dale trying to help. But again, lots of speculation and no one explanation. Hope this helps! 1

I remember the first time watching this series thinking she was an absolute icon. She still is, but rewatching I'm like girl... what is dis hunny. That being said she did EAT her monologue to Harold. That was a classic, that was a classic. 1 hour ago, sunbathinganimal said: also I forgot how annoying I find Andy I actually have really warmed to him and some of the other slapstick-esque humor this time around, but I definitely find most other elements more compelling. Made it through Lonely Souls last night and WHEW a collapse of an episode, potentially my all time favorite from the original series
