Queen :clap3: I hope to see more celebrities and public figures speak out soon.

Spyglass was stupid af to fire Melissa Barrera the way that they did because everyone who is not a zionist can see right through that. But at least now people can see the censorship happening. Maybe it could have flown in the 50's, but not today. People aren't going to be complicit.

Katrina. Petrovna. Zamolodchikova. :clap3:

She's stomping on those gays in her mentions with their 2 brain cells  Telling somebody that they're "on drugs" for speaking up against genocide is crazy, but these gays think the world only revolves around them and that human rights should be transactional.

Oh she kinda spilled in that second tweet. Just because the laws in Gaza are homophobic, does that mean people there deserve to die? Several US states banned abortions, the UK government is extremely anti-trans, France is extremely islamophobic. Not to mention the amount of racism and xenophobia in Ukraine. Do any of the people there deserve to be shelled and starved?

Imagine comparing the rights of LGBTQ people in Palestine to Glasgow or Massachusetts. I think she'll find that the decapitation and stoning of homosexuals isn't commonplace in those places. Tone deaf!

As if queerness stops at an artificial border. Queers are getting bombed too by a genocidal, colonial apartheidsregime.

The queen who made a point not to acknowledge the BLM movement until her peers literally had to beg her? I don't think so

Yes I don't get the reaching.

of course, there have been hate crimes at some point but it's not a law of the government/religion to kill like. Kind of speaks of priviledge

Yeah I was super confused to see Glasgow included in her tweet.

Katya is extremely intelligent so i’m not surprised to see her being on the right side of history at all, but it’s fabulous that she is outspoken.

Can we not? :biblio:

Trixie is Indigenous and has said in the past that she takes time to respond to movements and current events because she wants to make sure she's informed. It's OBVIOUS what side she's on.

No and Palestine should have its own state, as a neighboring state of Israel. This is a bit OT but I do find it weird how many gay people support and defend a certain religion even though it's extremely homophobic. The homophobia in Europe and the USA is bad but definitely not as bad as the homophobia in those countries. She is using whataboutism. Yeah, Russia is very bad but the rest? We gays who live in the west, the USA etc. are very privileged. It's not perfect but it could be much worse. When it comes to this area, Israel is definitely the best place for homosexuals. I am tired of the homophobia coming from certain groups being downplayed. The LGBT+ community in the west is very naive.

Hardly. It's an illogical comparison that completely trivialises the actual suffering of LGBTQ people in Palestine.

Trixa and Katya have spoken before about being harassed in the UK while in drag, and having club promoters tell them they need to be escorted from the hotel to the gig just to be extra safe. I can’t remember if they’ve mentioned Glasgow specifically, but perhaps Katya has had an experience there.

Her point is that, if a neighboring country started bombing hospitals anywhere in the UK, no one would justify it with “but there are homophobic people in the UK!!!”

:skull: The UK is literally one of the safest places in the world for gay people. Two rich and famous American drag queens having one bad experience in a city means absolutely nothing.

Even mentioning Glasgow in the same vein as somewhere like Palestine where it is literally legal to kill gay people and where 95% of the population oppose homosexuality (according to Equaldex) is ridiculous and reeks of privilege.

I really don’t know where you get off on this when Israel is killing more gay people in Palestine every day (as part of the larger population) than anyone else :deadbanana4:
