Restricts you from being diverse in what way?

 

One of the concerns is that people who don't really listen to rock or country or rap were sweeping through and just blindly nominating the stuff they recognize, regardless of quality, so you ended up with a lot of, for example, Taylor Swift wins and nominations in country long after she left the genre behind.

Once we have the nominees, my plan is that everyone will be able to vote for the winners in every category. But my hope is that by limiting participation in the nomination phase, it will elevate some passion picks from more serious fans of those genres.
