Well, the issue here is that you’re assuming “she” is the one who postponed it when there are hundreds of people (including literal governments) who were calling the shots and had personal stakes in the decisions made today. There’s a reason the mayor of Brazil was on site to make the announcement.

This was an impossible situation all around but blame should be laid squarely at the event organisers who endangered the lives of fans (and the performers’ for that matter) in the first place.

Is Taylor Swift not the event organiser?

I think the issue is that they didn't announce the postponement earlier in the day. For whatever reason.

Enjoy the next four dates Brazil because Taylor would likely NOT going to visit your country again :toofunny2:

Taylor has been touring for over a decade and have visited third world countries but she never exprienced this kind of mess. Y'all have the audacity to blame her when she was so excited to visit your country and has shown so much concern and love while she was performing. Taylor NEVER needed your country in her career and will NEVER need you ever again. Taylor is doing EVERYTHING she can to make logical decisions and make your experience worthwhile yet y'all are so hateful. Taylor don't deserve this.

3 more hours of suffering for these people wouldnt not make much difference

It ******* would make a difference - at these temperatures mere hours are the deciding factor if people live or die :rip: "They were already there, why not just continue anyway?" is the kind of reasoning that gets people killed

Not sure why everyone is ignoring the fact that brazilians are not mad about the show being cancelled, it’s about the lateness of the announcement, most of them were already in. They had the same reaction when Gaga cancelled her show in 2017 and Drake in 2023, all of them VERY late. I don’t blame them, I think anyone would be mad about this type of situation.

Seems like a them problem and not a her (+her team and local advisory) problem.

any lesser team would have been very “show goes on” and you know it. Tay + team didn’t even try and test the waters a second night in a row. They realized just how unsafe conditions are and postponed. Just like any act with any sort of moral compass would do.

I fear people are only getting dumber and more unreasonable.

There is a reason no one wants to go to this country. Have fun spamming her IG comments next tour!

Everyone loves to tour on Brazil! Taylor has said yesterday it was the crowd from her childhood dreams.

Well, no. She legally isn't - she is the performer who is contracted to put on a show by the event organisers.

The "event organisers" are AEG and T4F, and based on all the reliable information we have so far, Taylor's team and AEG have been putting pressure on T4F to postpone the entire weekend since right after the death happened. The promised measures didn't arrive, Taylor's team again had to pick up the slack to protect fans, and 13 Management only managed to succeed in postponing tonight's show after government intervention. Even still, the artist is being scapegoated (which is unfortunately not surprising) - it's going to be days before we have a clear understanding of what exactly happened, if ever. But it's not as simple as 'Taylor making a call.'

No. She is not. Companies local to each region are the entities who work with both artist teams and venue staff/owners to organize and promote individual concert dates. The artist does not have unlimited unilateral power in situations like this and their teams do not handle scheduling, safety, or other logistics alone (and often are not the primary people handling those things).

Not Taylor’s decision.

She does have unilateral power, she just chooses not to exercise it. She can go on her Instagram, announce the postponement, and refuse to perform. They can't force her to perform. She would be held liable for violating her contract, yes. She would have to pay them and she would lose money, yes. But they can't force her to perform. She can cancel if she wants to.

Stan wars aside, it’s kinda messed up to blame her for this. I doubt she really knows wtf is going on. Let’s just drag people for sales and charts and not blame deaths on them.

Just an example of an european country having the same reaction (worse actually) when a similar situation happened.

Nicki Minaj fans in France were not happy with the singer.

For the second time in two months, the “Barbie Tingz” rapper canceled her show, this time in Bordeaux, France, just hours before she was to go onstage Saturday.

Fans were already in the Arkea Arena when they were told there wouldn't be a show because of electricity issues

https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2019/03/10/fans-troll-nicki-minaj-when-she-cancels-concert-shout-cardib/3126818002/

Of course, Taylor’s situation is more serious but the frustration from the fans is inevitable.

This is a gross oversimplification of an extremely delicate legal and moral situation which literally involves a death that someone is likely going to be held liable for through legal action.

But then they should be directing it at the people that were preventing the postponement, shouldn’t they?  T4f has really treated the Brazilian fans poorly.
