It was the right thing but should have been done in the morning when the temperatures were already higher than yesterday.

Making the fans suffer in the heat for nothing is kind of a bad look tbh.

Also Monday is only a holiday in Rio, the fans from other states might not be able to attend if they work or can’t afford accommodation and flight tickets for three more days… this is like peak season almost, everything is super expensive in Rio.

Terrible situation all around and I feel bad for everyone involved.

Very interesting the tone you chose to phrase this thread considering what happened yesterday. Some of y'all are truly sick people.

Yeah this is a mess, especially knowing Taylor who hates rescheduling/cancelling dates

Someone died yesterday, she did the right thing :clap3:

Even Taylor was struggling. Imagine being in GA not being able to move.

Mess, could she have not done it earlier, before people were lined up for hours though?

Your phrasing in the OP of this thread and whatever this is, in regards to a situation where a young girl literally lost her life ,are well and truly f****d. You're disgusting.

Why would you post something like this when people are dying from a historical heat wave?

People here in Brazil needs to stop with the culture of being in line for 12 hours in advance just to get a view.

Artist should sell a limited amount right in front the stage, than another right after the first one. Everything devided to end this crazyness for being in a good place. You bought a good one u get a good one no need to wait hours.

They should have places in the middle with water, somewhere people could refresh. Water from a hose all through the stadium from time to time.

Is this a joke? What? I don't even know what you guys are making up in y'alls minds right now, I just saw an user with this pic as their pfp reacting to posts on this thread and I found it funny so I re-posted it? :rip: Literally doesn't even have a connection to what's happening right now, stop thinking too hard

Yes, the floor spots are but assigned so showing up early gets you a better spot.

Given that somebody's passed away yesterday, yes it was the right decision to cancel the show if safety could not be guaranteed within reason.

It's unfortunate that the postponement came with people already in the stadium, but the show will go on in a few days. Better annoyed than at risk.

I gotta say… disappointed this was not announced yesterday! I wonder if the fans who showed up today can get some sort of “spot ticket”. They really suffered out there

From what I heard, the government decided this last minute that is why.

From other posts, it seems that it was a government agency that made the actual final call to postpone, so the timing is likely due to dialogue throughout the day between her team, the stadium staff and promoters, and local government resources. I’m sure that it was a complex situation and it took time to come to a solution (postponement) that made sense to all those parties and that at least tries to respect the fans that were already lining up very early in the morning. It also sounds like people were there earlier than they normally would have been there for American concerts and other events that Taylor’s team would be used to. It isn’t even 7 PM there yet, and this thread was posted an hour ago (give or take, I’m on mobile and can’t see the exact time).

Excessive heat

Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Considering this and the fact that concert goers cannot get water inside with them, good.

Or just do floor seating like the US.

Another important point that someone mentioned in her tour thread - if the stadium staff/promoters were still pulling for the show to occur and she had contractual obligations to fulfill, it’s possible that Taylor and her team wanted the show cancelled far earlier, but could not make that decision unilaterally without further negotiation or waiting for government resources to make the call. Given how it sounds like the promoter has done a questionable job the last two days already, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case.

It was the right decision, but this definitely could have come much earlier.

So she let people queue for hours in the hottest time of the day and decided to postpone the show in the evening when temerature starts to cool down? :skull:

There should be something in her contract to cancel if it dangers herself and staff or those attending.
