I only know about the mute challenge because of ATRL and stan twitter bubbles. The friendship bracelet thing is way more known/done. Brands picked up on it, celebs picked up on it, locals picked up on it at the theatres, it's still all over social media... I mean, even Taylor and Travis' relationship technically started because he wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

People were doing the mute challenge in schools, in hospitals, in bars etc… the bracelets didn’t leave Taylor’s tour

Both are largely exclusive to their fanbases. I thought the mute challenge seemed bigger on the internet so I went with that. I sincerely don't know what the bracelet challenge is. I thought the biggest challenge was the 22-challenge or whatever that was on the Eras tour.
