Gui Blackout Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 In general the UK music scene just disappeared. Like where are the cool indie bands, where are the alt pop girls, where are the great dance acts. Now it's either grime rappers or boring balladers 6
Delirious Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Yes all of them are amazing I miss pop girlie music in general

ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Let's not forget the incredibly underrated Ms. Diana Vickers, who was giving Carly Rae-realness before Emotion had even been thought of: 3 1

Girl groups always seem to last longer than soloists tbh. Girls Aloud and the Sugababes both had at least 5 eras. I wonder if it's something to do with groups having an inbuilt "brand" from the get go, which is something soloists have to establish over time. It's also funny because Little Mix were going the same way as some other women in the industry after Salute and almost got dropped. Black Magic really saved their careers.

abelfenty Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 We can’t forget about mother Alexandra Burke. She delivered Pop excellence 1 3
Mr. Duff Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Natasha Bedingfield >>>> I also remember Joss Stone and Lily Allen, they had great music.
burninredhot Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 To me these girls are WhoK hitmakers so no 1
theblondesalad Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 I mean Geri Halliwell had classic after classic, too bad that after her 3rd album flopped she completely stopped putting out music: 1

Black Magic really saved their careers. they've only been able to survive in the UK. if you look at US or Korea it's a total mess. but in regards to the ones that lasted- i think having each other means there's more pressure to conform and do the right thing, keep the ball rolling. it could also mean more members = more fans, as different looks and personalities will appeal to different people. in the early days i only liked LM for Perrie. 1

Achilles. Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Natalia Kills dropped two of the best pop albums of the 2010s and bounced. Love Leona, though. She’s one of my top Christmas artists, so I always get a bit of her at the end of every year.
orange22 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 UK is kind of ruthless Americans love our flops
LesFleur Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Leona deserved so much more. Her third and fourth (non-Xmas) albums are so underrated. @DuffLavigne let's also remember Alexandra Burke Her debut Overcome era served 3 #1s, 5 consecutive top 10 hits and 6 top 20 entries. Then her second album flopped even though "Elephant" hit #3 Jamelia (she doesn't even have an official YT or VEVO account )
