It’s not that people aren’t interested, it’s just that the previous movies weren’t well adapted. Look at the difference between Daredevil (2003) and the Netflix series. I don’t think Marvel will mess this up now that it’s part of the MCU.

He's 48, Fantastic 4 are meant to be the same age with Johnny being a little younger.

Actually wait Reed IS supposed to be older than the other ones but still...he could be stuck with this role until he's 60 because F4 are meant to appear in multiple movies.
