Yep. Many such cases. I know people who only like artists when they’re the unique new underground thing and then drop them like a hot potato a couple years later because they’re seen as less cool once they reach mainstream success. I think this happens a lot with indie adjacent pop girls. It happened to Lily Allen, Ellie Goulding, Marina, etc. You could even see Billie’s HTE as this somewhat happening too with some of her early fans declaring that she sold out or changed when she adopted a new style.

Mmmmm I wouldn't say that given her debut album got BNA and Sucker got a good score. They lashed Vroom Vroom (which is hilarious in retrospect) and didn't seem to care for N1A though if you meant more that P4K eventually lashed Charli, which is true, but it feels more important that they never seemed to stan PinkPantheress before and now seem to be shading tf out of her this past year (even though their review is fairly positive????)

 

I'm not too sure either. I think the rise in popularity from TikTok and the fact that she was more "alternative leaning" prior to BAL blowing up are fair reasons for it. Sometimes big institutions just don't get artists though unfortunately, and usually end up reviewing their work in the future saying how wrong they were about disliking or snubbing them.

Her debut album Heaven Knows was released a couple days ago, you should check it out   

 

You might've heard Boy's A Liar pt 2 earlier this year cause it was everywhere on social media (mostly Twitter tho). Some of her songs like Pain & Just for me had gone viral on TikTok too back in 2021.

i really don't get her appeal, i think she's cute but not as groundbreaking as the likes of Tinashe, Kelela, etc also she's british, a white british artists like Jessie Ware also hasn't got her Grammy nom yet
