Did Karma Remix derail Ice Spice's trajectory?

It feels like ever since she hoped on the remix her career has stagnated whereas right before the remix there was lots of hype around her.

It's kinda like her verse was so bad that ppl just tuned her out ever since and it's kinda weird lol...she was EVERYWHERE right before that point

Wasn't Barbie World released after the remix? And even Deli which is her most popular solo song :coffee2:

Yes. Bikini Bottom coins were running low. She had one chance and blew it

Is this a Taylor hate thread? Then yes

No, as said Barbie World was released after it and became her biggest song. Ice Spice problem is she never escaped being a meme. She needed a serious "pure bars bop" type song or even full album (actually especially this no idea how she hasn't released one yet) that showed she isn't just a meme but an actual serious artist. Cardi almost fell into a similar fate back in her start but IOP gagged the girls showing she had substance beyond an "okurr".

I don’t know i see her and her hair all the time but never heard a song by her ever. I saw a disgusting video by her where she had no class either. You could literally see her hoel.

I've never heard or know of an Ice Spice song that isn't solo. I think the whole debate around having 'solo' hits is stupid but when every popular song you have has a feature on it or you yourself are the feature it makes you wonder how much of her success is actually hers and how much of it is her riding the coattails of other artists

in ha mood and Princess Diana were pretty big. she just needs time and new material of course. she’s running her career based on a small EP and a few (very successful) features.

She's just a meme artist with some online hype that moved on to the next sensation quickly... there was no career to derail here.

Maybe not, but it helped derail the plans for getting PinkPantheress a Grammy nomination.

According to Wikipedia none of those songs you listed charted in the top 40 anywhere in the world. So it looks like she can't score a hit on her own which proves my point

I see her as someone more serious, career-potential artists have used as leverage and struck whilst the iron was hot. Taylor, Nicki and Pinkpantheress all have their own established trajectories (obv the latter is still in the infancy of her career, but still has a strong foundation). She’s very much the Iggy Azalea of 2023 — bigger artists use her social media clout for hit remixes/songs to click with the ephemeral, short attention spans of 15 year olds on tiktok. Pretty sure Sexyy Red is already taking her spot lol

And what’s with the gay boy in this thread pretending to be Ice Spice..

The Ice Spice impersonating took me out lmao

She has potential to stick around for a while. All she needs to do is follow the Cardi-Doja-Lil Nas trajectory and have a first era that is visually creative and with bops. Shes still in her mixtape times. Pretty Girl felt like filler her label made her drop so she won’t fade on radio and people’s minds. If she has a banger first single she will be back on track with all of her hype

To think that she will probably win a Grammy for that trashy remix just because of Taylor's power while Boy's a liar Part II (her best collaboration) was snubbed  :rip:
