CaptainMusic Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Hopefully there’s a new album as well, I think they could score a #1 album and a cute Top 10 hit with the nostalgia.
BambiStar Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Wait... what of the superhero themed shoot was just for tour promo / interludes 1
qwerty123123 Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 No new music confirmed. The right move but a Greatest Hits collection with some bonus bits would be nice.
Gelato Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 (edited) At least with the confirmation that there's no new music it shows that their team isn't briefing the Sun anymore. They treated Cheryl horribly from 2018 onwards. Doing the interview with British Vogue instead and completely ignoring the Sun, apart from their PR rebutting them tonight, is so classy Edited November 22, 2023 by Gelato
BlackoutZone Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 I'm honestly glad there is no music, I don't think it would work that well now and God forbid them releasing just some dull ballad. They better just continue with amazing anniversary editions and celebrating their legacy. Excited for the tour, time to take a trip to the UK
BambiStar Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Talking about the logistics of Glastonbury when no one has asked them yet Nicola ignores this. "We'll obviously come up with some spectacular opening, but all my ideas cost billions of pounds, which is the problem." QUEEN 1
BryceG Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 This feels like a contractual obligation they’ve dressed up a little. 1
Shelter Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Are they talking about Bey‘s show? Cheryl says. I inform her that I want to see a Renaissance-sized spectacle taking place. “So do I!” she replies. “So do f***ing I. And all the costume changes, too.

The Slayer Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 "There is no new music and there is no video - although we've shot a commercial," says Nadine Coyle. "Making new music without Sarah would be odd," confirms Cheryl. "But celebrating what we made together? Fabulous."
wigglytuffer Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 This is the best news ever ahhh! GA were my first ever concert in 2008 and my mum came with me and bought me a foam finger to cheer for Cheryl as they came over for The Promise... Now I get to repay my mum and take her to this tour Gutted about the new music but honestly think it's the right choice - the logical answer is to come back with a ballad in honour for Sarah but ballads just aren't Girls Aloud. Girls Aloud are floor-fillers and high energy numbers and doesn't make sense. There's definitely going to be extra dates added, huge gaps around Birmingham, Liverpool and London already GO girls g-g-g-go-go-go
Superbitch Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 I’m excited but not that excited anymore since I most likely won’t go to the uk to see them band we won’t get any music.
BambiStar Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Sad for no new music, though leaning into being a legacy act seems like a smart business decision a lot of 2000s pop groups are doing. Say what you want about Xenomania's more recent output, they always brought their A-game for the girls! Something New, Every Now and Then, Go To Work all bangers.
That Bad Eartha Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 So excited for the tour, gonna do to the UK for it, will be my first time leaving the country. I'd love new music, but I also kind of like the symbolism of Every Now and Then being the last new song in their discography. Such a beautiful song. I hope they sing it on this tour.
ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 The idea of no new music is very sad to consider, but I'm excited regardless. Hoping to land tickets for the Manchester show. Girls Aloud tours are always incredible (the Ten Tour on YouTube is just bonkers in term of energy and charisma) and I'm so looking forward to experiencing that in an arena. Can't wait!
abelfenty Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 So they’re not releasing music and it’s just a tour? Kinda disappointing honestly

Kinda disappointing honestly I’ve been thinking about it and it honestly wouldn’t feel the same without Sarah and I think they’re doing it out of respect. It wouldn’t surprise me if when they perform live they include a Sarah’s studio vocals and a nice background video as celebration. It’s been 20 years of GA and it’s such a gift for fans! I honestly still can’t believe it
Dante Silva Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 They have clearly seen the Spice Girls reluctance to record and willingness to tour and are copying the same model (on a smaller regional scale). Most of them only started following Sarah on IG 24 hours before the story of her illness broke in the media so they can cut the crap about “doing it for Sarah”. They want the cold hard cash, pure and simple! It’s pretty clear from the Unperfect/ Cutebad material that Xenomania are burnt out and their creativity a now distant memory but they could have instead gone to Ina Wroldsen, Biff Stannard, or Cathy Dennis.

Just because they weren't as close to each other as Cheryl, Kimberly and Nicola are doesn't mean they hated each other. Of course, they're doing it for the money and fans but that doesn't mean they won't be paying respect to the late Sarah.
