Fleahive Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 We’ve seen almost all the main pop girlies that once lead the pack remind us who they are and their status. Why hasn’t Taylor done this and would the public be for or against it? Examples: Britney: It’s Britney ***** Beyonce: This my **** BOW DOWN ******* Katy: Swift swift ***** another one in the basket. Can’t touch this another one in the casket Rihanna: That Rihanna reign just won’t let up Gaga: One second I’m a Koons, suddenly the Koons is me. Pop culture was in art, now arts in pop culture, in me.

schnetzka Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Would these lyrics in "Karma" fit that category? "Ask me why so many fade, but I'm still here (I'm still here, I'm still here)"
Kodak Energy Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 She kinda has Ask me what I learned from all those years. Ask me what I earned from all those tears. Ask me why so many fade but I’m still hereeee

Timeless Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 I 100% believe there's stuff in the reputation tv vaults that will be hardcore like that 2
shookspeare Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 she doesn't need to because her domination speaks for itself 8 1

I’m a swiftie when it comes to reputation. I like her when she’s super confident and slightly dark sided. I need a ready for it 2.0 rap but telling the gworls that she broke all their records and they better stop dragging her name through the mud before she buys their career with eras tour alone. Ugh yes 4

moo Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 (edited) Many of her already existing dis lines are paired with talking about how she got beat down and now is getting revenge (there's nothing she does better): "So don't look now, I'm shining like fireworks over your sad empty town" (she is) "Maybe I got mine but you'll all get yours" (she was right) "They count me out time and time again, but I come back stronger than a 90s trend" (also right) She's probably too neurotic to ever just drop a "I'm the ******* QUEEN, y'all ******* better RESPECT" type line, though she's certainly earned it. ugo Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 No when most pop stars get cocky they fell off the next era. look at Katy at prism era

BtDecember Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 She already did but with Style (Taylor’s Version).mp3
xXavril Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 I have to agree with what other users have said. she already has had tongue in cheek lyrics, and even if they aren’t super explicit, she doesn’t need a ‘I’m the ****’ lyrics. It’s corny and her records speak for themselves
Big Bad Wolf Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Is that not Look What You Made Me Do, I Forgot That You Existed, The Man???
Machete Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 She won’t. A large part of Taylor’s succes is from her brand of seeming like just a normal girl. Sure she is Taylor Swift, the superstar on weekends but that’s just her Hannah Montana moment, she’s regular Miley Stewart off the stage and in her music. For example I saw a video of her last month at the film’s premiere where a fan compliments her necklace and she almost robotically responds “OMG I’m renting it it’s so expensive!”. Now girl, you are a billionaire I don’t doubt the renting because that is common for events but her needing to remind the fan (and audience of the cameras she knew was filming) that all of this glitz and glam is “so not her!” is very intentional for her branding. Overtly braggadocious lyrics do not match with said brand. 1 2
CandleGuy Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Did you miss the entire song about how she's a Mastermind

Do you seriously think in the split second it took her to answer that unprompted question she made sure it fit within some parameters of the public persona you’ve ascribed to her? Or do you not think she answered that quickly and naturally because maybe it was the true answer from her perspective 2 1 1
Cruel Summer Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 If she actually said something like that in a straightforward, confident way, it would suddenly somehow be a bad thing and people would whine for weeks. I agree that it doesn’t really vibe with her brand and personality, though, so I can’t really see it happening anyway.
