Halsey performs to empty venue

Regarding the pop girls that’s not what’s been happening at all. They decided to debut their festival in a hot season for concerts. Both The Eras Tour and Soy Rebelde Tour are happening this month in Brazil; Primavera Festival and Afropunk Salvador are also taking the whole space for festivals this end of the year and electronic fans were dancing to big names in Dekmantel this weekend. They washed this flop festival multiple times…

Kendrick’s name is carrying this. Halsey is a nobody in Brazil and she wouldn’t be filling seats solo either. She needed that Kim Petras spot in The Town to guarantee an audience that would only know her music from random radio plays and shopping malls.

All the Popgirls are usually big in Brazil. Is Halsey really a non-factor. What happened there? Thats rare. Why she didnt connect with brazilians?
She has some strong hits in her catalogue. Thats so weird to me :gaycat4:

She didn’t come from Disney, which was a huge plus when she debuted for building a fanbase. She tried to have a come up along the same lines as Lorde, Lana, Florence and the Machine, and Marina and the Diamonds as an alt-girl, but none of the music of Badlands stuck enough for her to build a cult-ish audience. You need a classic album for this audience and Badlands wasn’t that. Then she moved to her current brand of pop, but that lane in Brazil is occupied by major girls like Taylor, Ariana and Miley, that still have a strong fanbase after all these years. Then Billie and Olivia came and they are basically the new alt-pop girls for teens and twinks now. Dua became a much bigger force around the same time too

Halsey is pretty faceless. Some people still think some of her music is by Ellie Goulding lol They used to play side by side around the same time on radio, and even then radio would only play Without Me, Closer and Eastside. She has a hit among BTS fans and You Should Be Sad was radio filler at a point. She was always the definition of local. It’s kinda crazy how massive she was in the US in comparison to the EU and Brazil (two places I lived whej she was popping). I suspect most of her numbers come from the anglosphere

Halsey was never big here to begin with. Her only hits were Closer and maybe Without Me

All those Trap rappers really faded so much. The pandemic really affected them.

I think the shift of Urban music from the 2017-2018-2019 to Disco and Synthwave and 80s and Pop Punk in 2020-2021  ruined them.
So many of them died too like Juice world-Take off and more.... :giraffe: they dont feel as powerful as they used to

It’s funny that when popgirls fill festivals fans are quick to brag they were the major pull but when they flop “it was not even a solo show” lol they’re doing festivals because they have zero demand to bring their tours here. If they ain’t selling a joint ticket we have bad news…

Meanwhile here’s Abel filling seats last week in São Paulo. Eras Tour attendance will be out of this world too

She's over, no charts, no arts, can't even score one of those faceless features she's known for :clap3:

Actually Synthwave,Synthpop and Disco and 80s are gettin stale and i have mentioned it in some of my past successful threads on Base.

Artists been repeating that sound for 3 years and is gettin tiresome :rip: i think so many agree with me here
Im here for another Urban Take over with Drill or Electro R&B-R&B or maybe Dancehall Or Afrobeat or Middle Eastern Music mixed with Hip Hop :giraffe::heart:
I think sooner or later it will comeback. Music is cyclical.

And we know nicki will keep smashing with those. Lets hope Halsey too. Without me was a nice R&B banger
Love to you my barbiegrande

Yeah, it's harsh to say but no other way around it. No one talks about her anymore. Hasn't had anything even close to resembling a hit in 5 years. Last album flopped and wasn't even acclaimed/supported as "underrated" by hard-core pop fans. She just doesn't seem to have anyone anticipating her next album. I would be quite shocked if she ever manages to have a comeback. I guess never say never but she will have quite a battle ahead.
