They already do this indeed. We have two users, at least, who only track and count Taylor’s pure sales for certifications, because “streaming is a mess and because of Discovery mode on Spotify”.

Nobody even dragged Mariah to begin with. She's a legend a Taylor surpassing her does not change that. We were celebrating Taylor's achievement until a Rihanna stan came to drag and got scalped.

Im not a hater. I like taylor and reputation is one of my fav albums ever. Style is one of the best pop songs ever. But this whole record thing isn't fair. She has 2 versions of each album. So obviously she'd benefit in sales not to mention MC and all those singer surpass her in pure sales. 

 

Counting both versions of her albums sort of contradicts her re-recording of her past albums. As i mentioned above, i think she should be #1 the biggest selling female artist of all time with DOUBLE albums/sales. Basically a category she's made herself.  That way it is fair.

This doesn't make any sense. Greatest hits, reissues and compilations count for all other artists and had very significant sales for 80s/90s artists. There's no reason to treat Taylor rerecordings differently.

So are you gonna remove Mariah #1s from her album sale or The Immaculate Collection from Madonna's album sale while we're at it?

Congrats Taylor, this is so deserving. She's still so young and it's really exciting to watch her go all the way.

 

As a lamb, I'm just reminded again how much potential Mariah still has but she is somehow okay to being reduced to a seasonal singer. Even the recent embrace for being "defrosted". She is an artist, a songwriter, with an amazing catalogue, but she clearly isn't inspired at all, anymore, sadly.
