FolkLover1989 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 So, every year we have lots of seasonal hits and classics that gain on streaming. But nothing for Xtina? People neither talk about her nor they stream her ? Why? The only remembered hit of her is Maroon 5 collab? Why couldn't Xtina have legacy like her peers Pink and Britney? 5 1 1 7
mons†er Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Xtina doesn't have a career like her peers because the quality of her music has gone downhill ever since 'BIONIC'. she definitely has a legacy outside of being a hook girl, 'Beautiful', 'Candyman', 'Lady Marmalade'. it's just that Generation Z has the attention span that can only hold the last 5 years of music, if that much. she also isn't riding the wave of nostalgia and referencing that has had music in a chokehold. still waiting for a full R&B album from her.

poki Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Her distinctive voice + the gay scenes in Beautiful were definitely a moment in pop culture. Dirrty is deemed an early 2000s classic. She's in the same league as Michelle Branch these days if we look at solo hits.
kexin Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 although her legacy won’t be as strong as of her peers, Bionic was definitely an album that has gained nobility in being a misunderstood pop album. Not every album needs to have its own revisionism (cough ARTPOP) but that album was certainly a step forward in seeing what was to come of music later on. she seems to be doing well doing stuff on her own terms and that’s all any artist can dream of doing.
StonedSoulPicnic Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Christina Aguilera influenced some artists who debuted after her (Demi Lovato, Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Smith). Also, she helped define pop music in the late 1990s and early 2000s. That's pretty much it. She's a pop icon, not a music legend.
La Reina Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Her iconic vocals which influenced a generation of artists are her legacy. Anyone can tell it's Christina singing based on just one run or riff alone. Then we add Stripped which influenced many artists as well. Xtina gets cited as an inspiration by more artists than P!nk does. Has more GRAMMYs as well. 1
differentkindahigh Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) To be honest I know her for: genie in a bottle come on over(all I want is you) What a girl wants Ain't no other man Beautiful (cemented it's legacy in mean girls) Candyman Lady Marmalade Being mean Screaming Being sexy & skinny when she was young Burlesque Being partially latina The flop of Lotus The Sabotage of Bionic by Lady Gaga & Perez Hilton Edited November 1, 2023 by differentkindahigh 5
Toxic.Latin Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Besides being a feauture artist, she is going to be remembered as a judge in a talent show for singers. 3
starsailor Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) Well, you will probably find a lot of other gays in this site to echoes yours “she’s such a flop!!!!111”, “she’s such a devil woman!!!!” “Such a mean diva!!!!1”, “no one cares for her!!!”, “no one stream!!!!”. So, I hope you're happy with that. What will you gain from that? I have no idea. But it must be fun, cause everyday ATRL insists on this. Meanwhile, she is always supporting for real the gays, trans, women and every other minority who are always being attacked by the patriarchal society. She uses her voice and prestige, which she has an intact one, to fight the hunger and try to save the planet and nature. But you probably don’t know much about that, cause, even with her precious voice, she is not that vocal about what she does to make the world a better place because she won’t use it to promote herself like the majority of celebrities does. But you can go on… call her a flop and an unkown ainger. She and her very proud fans will cry for a month because of that, girl! So funny, right? Edited November 1, 2023 by starsailor 1 2

For exemple, everyone remembers the Britney Spears and Madonna performance/kiss from two decades ago (and might know she was there). The public knows that she started as a Britney Spears clone and had a one sided beef against her. Moves Like Jagger remains a popular song and she had a short featuring on it. Somehow she'll never be completely forgotten because people are going to associate her name to these events but when it comes to her own impact and legacy it's true that the public has completely abandonned her decades ago. She's never talked about by the gp, hasn't done anything iconic and her streams are incredibly bad. Edited November 1, 2023 by Erreur2 La Nature 1 1 1
LikeATattoo Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 If nothing else, I feel like she’ll always be seen as an important component in the teen pop craze of the late 90s/early 00s (alongside Britney and Justin).
