Imagine being a billionaire with 430 million followers and telling people that spreading awareness online doesn't do anything :rip: wow.

It doesn’t tho when it comes to a war?! Spread what awareness? Everyone is aware of what’s happening. You don’t need a celebrity to spread awareness lol

She’s always saying she doesn’t want to talk but then does it anyways and looks a fool :rip:

Love my girl but just post the cute makeup vids and posts where you’re wrapped in a blanket or showing bosoms in Paris then keep it moving

I mean you guys are proving her point kinda by tearing her apart for sharing her feelings regarding the matter. Clearly you guys would rather focus on dragging her than sympathizing with her words which is a sentiment shared by many others that are not celebrities. So if she doesn’t say anything either she’s damned too. It’s weird cause it’s not the first time I’ve seen on ATRL a woman get dragged for sharing her feelings on this.

Well if you check the comments of the Palestinians over the years, they genuinely want awareness to be spread. So speaking up against what’s happening is something that aligns to what they want and should be  obliged with if you genuinely care….

She should’ve said nothing.

This is actually incorrect and dangerous to spread. The reason why the Palestinian movement has gotten so much attention this time around is because people are posting about it and talking about it.

And yes boycotting does work. If everyone did it.

She is quite right tho,  not sure why some people actually expect celebrities to post about the war as if that’s going to change anything.

I mean no leader will take a step back and stop a war because Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian and Gigi Hadid asked them to. Remember Russia-Ukraine? It’s still happening today, people moved on and Putin continued to do what he wanted although there’s been a massive push across the world to stop him. Anyone thinking a post will change the world is delusional.

So you think you should sit down and act nothing is happening ? Because nothing is gonna change with a post :rip:
The situation isn’t white and black,  a war doesn’t end in two minutes.
The goal is to pressure to politics and bring awareness, do you really think it’s a good idea if the public opinion is against its government especially in a democracy.
Isreal has managed to get away for years because no one truly cared about Palestians, only a few were talking about. Now for over a month, Palestine has gotten the best media coverage and now people are starting to change their mind about the situation, protesting all over the world and dragging their governments.

your comment comes as sensitive especially the celebrities mentioned here talked about several topics.

A post won but Money talks.  All these celebs should be donating to the victims or middle eastern people in trouble :giraffe:

There’s no reason why they can’t do both…

Some of the people here throwin hate-vitriol to Selena are part of the problem and the reasons why wars like this exist :emofish:

Oh so, there should not be public outrage? We should not hold our govts accountable for acquiescing to these heinous acts?

You think it’s more wise to be quiet and let genocide happen to avoid war?

I still don’t care about Palestine. It’s also a place where being gay is forbidden and you could even get killed for it. The only downside is that innocent people are dying. Same as Ukraine. Which is still happening. Remember the Ukraine media coverage? Did it stop any wars? I’m not saying that showing compassion is wrong, of course, use your platform, but when it comes to wars ANY posts will NOT pressure the leaders of those countries or stop them in any way. Grow up

You are such a one issue person. If you think sexuality is even a concern when an actual genocide is going on ………..

Btw, these are the narratives that are being built to justify Israel’s acts…..

it’s why awareness is being pushed for.

Huh? Social media has been instrumental in helping to educate the general public on the literal genocide that's happening.

Selena became a billionaire by selling her stupid makeup kits on her Instagram story, are you really believing her "social media doesn't do anything" excuse? She should have just kept quiet like the other scared celebrities :rip:

Are you actually comparing selling makeup kits to WARS? LOL, I have to laugh.

she doesn’t have to educate anyone, it’s not her responsibility to do so. People know about the war, they’ve always known and if you didn’t until a celebrity posted that’s cause you were ignorant and out of touch with the real world. You choosing to do something about it is your responsibility, but truth is and SADLY no one can do anything about wars. The whole world literally went against Russia, businesses stopped their operations there, yet Putin continued to do what he wanted. The war continued and it’s still happening today. Y’all never learn

No one says anyone should be quiet. The whole ******* point is that it will not change or stop the situation from happening!

It’s not a war….

Your entire post shows that you sadly don’t know what’s going on…

How can it be a war when one side can cut out the water, food and electricity? Has nuclear weapons? Is being funded with billions of dollars? Can shut off the internet?

it’s a slaughter.

Ukraine is like one of the most protected countries in the world.
The US and the EU are sending weapons, financing the war, boycotted Russia to the point it affected people’s lives with the inflation and all.
Ukrainians can move to the EU easily unlike other migrants simply because they’re war victims.

And it’s different since Russian has always been the enemy public. Israel isn’t.
Like I said doesn’t end in two minutes it’s harder than we think but it doesn’t prevent them to do so anyway.
Selena has like the biggest platform in the world, with a single post million fans would be aware of what’s currently happening.
