I never understood why people feel that celebrities need to speak on events that are happening in the world. People can say, “well, it is to raise awareness”, but there’s hundreds of news platforms online and on television that are spreading awareness about these events 24/7.

The problem is that news organizations (and politicians) are generally paid to be slanted in one way or another. Celebrities are essentially the last remaining influential figures that, while generally being completely uninformed and trend-hopping, can still make a bit of difference with public sentiment.

She is quite right tho,  not sure why some people actually expect celebrities to post about the war as if that’s going to change anything. 
 

I mean no leader will take a step back and stop a war because Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian and Gigi Hadid asked them to. Remember Russia-Ukraine? It’s still happening today, people moved on and Putin continued to do what he wanted although there’s been a massive push across the world to stop him. Anyone thinking a post will change the world is delusional.
