Slayn Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/taylor-swift-1989-taylors-version/ same score as the original discuss! 1
Cruel Summer Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Well, they’re off as always, and their assessment of ****! is boringly off the mark, but it’s a cute enough score for them so I’ll stop complaining. 1
Popular Post Cain Posted October 30, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2023 Deserves a worse score than the original for its worse production and vocals takes so this was v generous of them 36 6 4 8

NEUTRON Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 (edited) This deserves nothing higher than a 6.5. The production ruins it Blank Space & How You Get The Girl sound awful instrumentally. Edited October 30, 2023 by NEUTRON 10 2 1
suburbannature Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 This is a more accurate review than most have been giving it, but the original deserved higher. The hollow productions take so much away from it. 6
uusagii Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Giving this ******* heap of rotting garbage a higher score than Sampha's new album is literally an international disgrace 1 2 6
enchanted0 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 great the sound engineers on Atrl lost 4 minutes ago, uusagii said: Giving this ******* heap of rotting garbage a higher score than Sampha's new album is literally an international disgrace Please stop being miserable. I literally played Lahai like 20 times (yet 1989 TV like....3 times) and meanwhile it got a 7.0 is a travesty, it got nothing to do with this album. 1
Machete Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Too high. Also seems like they're just rating the vault tracks not the actual re-recordings. 5
uusagii Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Taylor Swift's trickling monopoly over the industry is straight up the worst thing to have happened to modern music 12 3
Blue Rose Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Well, they’re off as always, and their assessment of ****! is boringly off the mark, but it’s a cute enough score for them so I’ll stop complaining. 5.7/10 would’ve been more accurate 6 1
dawnettakins Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Better than it deserves, but at least they're somewhat honest unlike those other critics that don't even bother actualing critiquing and just give a 100 because it's by Taylor Swift and nothing more. 2

Stream your faves albums first than getting your feels and vibes 3
jim19911126 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Vault tracks might deserve 8.0 but the rest of album is not worthy anything more than 6.0.
1989 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Once again, I’ve never put much stock into Pitchfork, but it’s fine. Love to see the OTHs running into this thread, though.
KatyPrismSpirit Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 A 7.7 is good idk why people think otherwise

Taemira Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 deserved 6.5-6.8 at best for its karaoke production and downgraded vocals. Clean is the only song that has gotten better somehow. 1
Mr. Mendes Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Should be higher for the best TV yet. Their score for Speak Now, the weakest one yet, was a little too high.
