I can't recall the last time someone released a lead single that didn't need to be listened to 10 times before you started to get into it.  (and yes I'm taking EOM into consideration too before someone tries it) Only time that works is if you're truly doing something different and lbr, this is not. I still think it'll be a hit though, just one more in line with this current era of "hits".

 

With that said, it's a good song. I just wish lead singles felt more instant again and lived up to the hype. Great video as well.

Song:

Love the instrumental, the chorus is ear worm, very repetitive, lack longevity due to non existing progression. Last chorus should have had added drums, guitars and strings and be repeated twice with drum riser into outro

 

Video:

exactly what I was afraid of, Dua is not a trained dancer, she tries and it s all good but you can see her movements are not so coordinated and naturally sharp as they should be.

I really dont like those pants, she has an amazing body and those doesn't make her look her best. Also one hair style, one outfit, almost all video just one scene ... hmmm

 

Its good, its cool but its not great ... Overall 6.5/10

 

Song could have been 10 with some minor structure and production changes

 

Will I stream it to infinity and buy the single and album in few versions and go to see her live on concert? YES lol

This is excellent… up-tempo, danceable, catchy and DRIPPING with sexy confidence.
 

Future Nostalgia’s DNA is very evident but it’s definitely an evolution in terms of sound… makes me excited to hear what else she has in store.
