highwind44029 Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 I'm devastated. I was always a fan of him despite his struggles, and was always rooting for him to overcome them until he did. I really hope he had been happy during the last few years of his life. Rest in peace, Matthew. Thank you for all the smiles and the laughs.
CaptainMusic Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 This is such a shock, it will be really hard for me to watch Friends the same way now. He created one of the funniest characters ever and will be missed, RIP
eduardolevit Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 this is so sad, i'm so sad may he rest in peace
Dr. Alexander Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 1 hour ago, CorbynBlessing said: Just because he battled with addictions in the past does not mean thats how he went. This sounds like it could have been a heart attack. You do understand that addictions, especially to alcohol and drugs, have lasting side effects as a result, right? It is more than likely his body was suffering from the aftermath of the continuous abuse to his body. He talked about his serious health conditions that derived from his addiction a while ago. 2
BnPac Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Oh man! My favorite character. But with his addiction, not all surprising. RIP.
naval23 Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 The way he gave us so much alaughtet effortlessly but was suffering on the inside So sad, RIP
Mr. Mendes Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 It’s hard to wrap my head around. He gave so much to the world via Friends. An integral part of not just growing up for many but a lifelong companion. The amount of friends and family I have that watched it when it was on and then just kept watching as the years went on on TV or streaming is insane. It touched so many lives and he was such a huge part of it. But he also gave so much to the world via his transparency and honesty about his demons. He worked hard to normalize the discussion of addiction and the complexities of recovery and the difficult to untangle web of depression. In his candidness and his openness to discussing asking for help, I know he inspired others to speak up and ask for help as well. I hope his soul finds peace. 3 1
