honestly this; say what you want about big machine - but they *mostly* knew how to pick singles.  taylor got it right with antihero, but.. (i mean girl even cut her lead off of folklore in the movie and lover lead not even on tour - picking her singles is not her strong suit tbh)

That's fair, I couldn't find a source so thanks for posting this . It's an intriguing choice though she definitely made the right decision.

So what she actually said is that she chose not to include S!ut because having it on the same album with Blank Space would have been redundant, given their similar subject matter. Not that there was ever a real danger of S!ut being chosen over Blank Space

It sounds more like she knew all along that "Blank Space" would be on the album, which is why she cut "Slvt!" because it had similar topic.

Plus the fact that Max isn't on an vault songs (as a songwriter) makes me think that all songs they worked together on were meant to be on the album.
