Cain Posted February 10 Posted February 10 She’s still in little popstar label puppet mode literally 10 years after debuting. Like there’s just absolutely been no growth in a decade, which is wild The lack of direction, vision, or image is what’s halted her. Like someone else said, even if you’re doing ‘mindless pop girlie’, at least have a vision and brand attached to that. It feels like she has nothing to say, no vision of where she wants to go and even her performances, while nice, have not evolved 8 1
MississippiZara Posted February 11 Posted February 11 What does Venus (Album) need to do to go top 10 in the UK? It’s currently sitting at #4 on iTunes (I know iTunes doesn’t mean much anymore) but YLWYL is also top 15 there as well after her performance and On My Love was a top 15 hit on official charts very recently would love for this to outpeak poster girl there

I agree her lack of artistic growth has been incredibly disappointing and I’ve legit only listened to the full album once through at this point because it’s so disappointing (besides You Love Who You Love, Escape, & Venus) BUT her performances are getting better and better. Her breath work has gotten miles better and she’s worked on her pitch control as well. Her choreo levels may have remained the same but it sounds a LOT better now 1

Like the YLWYL performance is something she could’ve done in the So Good era. In fact I think that So Good X Factor (??) performance in the blue outfit is still one of her best 1
worldwide angel Posted February 11 Posted February 11 she needs to make ammunition a single quickly!!! one of her best songs 2
Facelessboy Posted February 11 Posted February 11 (edited) I think she’s over unfortunately. I can’t see her releasing a 5th album for a long time. She might even get dropped… Edited February 11 by Facelessboy 2
FireFade Posted February 11 Posted February 11 after 3 listens, I think I can say that this album is underwhelming. it's a bummer because she has an insane stage presence, she can SING, she can dance, but her music is very hit or miss... mainly miss. I'll give another listen though, I really want to like more of the songs. 1

Lady Claire Posted February 11 Posted February 11 She won’t get dropped since she’s under her own imprint and Epic/Sony only distributes her music. And she’s still successful on her main markets (Sweden/UK) so there’s nothing to worry about However i would like for her to release new music more often. A Deluxe during summer, then a new standalone single by the end of the year, a new EP next year etc. She needs to keep going 5
bjorn Posted February 11 Posted February 11 How much more can she release for her to become unprofitable for the label? Budget is getting smaller and smaller which is clearly noticeable. It’s sad to see as she really deserves to be on Dua Lipa level. I feel like her “fanbase” has completely disappeared and declined since her debut and peaked. Her streams and YouTube views are non existent as this point. She needs a hit to go viral on TikTok and then build herself back.. 1

Asherio Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Venus (the track) is such a BOPPP but the rest of the album is quite meh sadly. It’s kinda frustrating seeing Zara’s career because she literally has it all going for her yet she keeps flopping.
hallucinate Posted February 11 Posted February 11 giving the album a second listen right now none of these guys bops a biT 1
Sky Engineer Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Who kept saying ammunition was the best thing of her career before? 😵💫
Delirious Posted February 12 Posted February 12 does anyone know which track was pushed to NMF playlists duirng poster girl release week? Was it need someone?
Binxstan Posted February 12 Posted February 12 REALLY wanted to like this album but sadly it's so meh. She's got so much stage presence I can't believe she put out an album this bland
Rigalo Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I actually don’t hate this like y’all lol like it’s not great for sure but I’ll use for a month or two
