acidbb Posted February 8 Posted February 8 None of these guys is my anthem cuz i only date guys above 6'1"
ATRL Moderator Verge of Obscene Posted February 8 ATRL Moderator Posted February 8 why does Zara insist on multiple banal ballads on her albums?? Nothing & The Healing are awful 1
beyonceparkwood Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Just listened and… let’s just hope for the next album she focuses on a strong cohesive album rather than a playlist album with occasional bops. Love Venus, NOTG and Escape. 1
whatyouwant_ Posted February 8 Posted February 8 The first half is really strong and i really love every song but the second half is .... something else, i almost couldn't finish the last tracks, i love her but 1
Lady Claire Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I actually enjoy the album It’s not her best but i use most tracks. Nothing is horrible though and i couldn’t even finish it the only dud for me but her albums always have one unlistenable trash (Make That Money Girl, Talk About Love, Nothing) By the snippets i knew what to expect so it’s fine for me. I’ll do my track by track review later 1
Saint James Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Cant Tame Her - cute bop. wish the build up was stronger at the end. 8/10 More Than This Was- verses remind me of Rihanna. overall very dated and i probably won’t revisit. 4/10 On My Love- did this get remastered? it sounds better! like, significantly. her voice doesn’t suit edm so i can understand why she’s mostly avoided it. 6/10 Ammunition- sounds writing camp’d from one of rih’s 300 scrapped albums. the outro agrees. 4/10 None Of These Guys- if you’re taking demos, better to have synthy dark Tove bops like this. 7/10 You Love Who You Love- from the first 10 seconds, it’s SO MUCH better and alive than the other tracks. This is Zara. 8/10 end of time- i’m an EOT stan. she sells it so well. 8/10 nothing- girl, what is this. 3/10 escape- not dreamy enough. why are there no features? this should have been a female rap song instead. 4/10 soundtrack- competent, pretty and boring. she will definitely sing this on tour. 4/10 venus- sounds like an Ellie Goulding leftover. imagine how cute this would have been if they sang it as a duet? 5/10 the healing- i wonder if this is from that camila album. any of the b list girls could sing this. a weird way to suddenly stop the song/album. 3/10 absolutely zero artistic growth, to the point that it’s amusing. you could swap tracks from here with So Good and not notice the difference. i say this with zero malice, i like zara and will continue streaming. but its sad to see someone not reach their potential, or even get close. 1
Lady Claire Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I have a problem with the mixing on most tracks though It’s not bc the producers are unknown and/or cheap bc they aren’t, it’s the mixing itself 1
Delirious Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) The biggest problem with the album imo is the production. It sounds extremely dated and cheap Poster girl sounded expensive Edited February 8 by Delirious
Better Mistakes Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I seem to be in the minority but, at least for me, I think is her tightest project yet. Is it groundbreaking? But I’m finding it more consistent than her previous 3 albums. None of These Guys slaps and is a stand out
Scandalous Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) this is…fine. definitely underwhelming considering the people she worked with. it’s such a shame she still can’t make a great pop album after a decade first half is def the strongest, it falls off at EOT. I wish Ammunition was more like the outro and MTTW needed to be a little boppier. I actually don’t hate Nothing, it’s definitely the best of the slower ones imo. Soundtrack lyrics are soooo cringe, i think i will delete that one Edited February 8 by Scandalous
Kintsugi Posted February 8 Posted February 8 it's a cute 9 track mixtape, the ballads are genuinely horrific, and this is coming from someone who has stanned all of the ballads from her previous albums
Aimen Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Poster girl remains her best album but venus is good the ballads drags it down i love ballads but the ones in the album are awful even on my love grow on me abit even though i hated it when it got released
TMP Posted February 8 Posted February 8 This is not a bad album but this is too generic. The whole project has no direction.. At least, I will keep YLWYL and EOT. The rest is just good pop, but this is not enough ! My Review https://the-melting-pop.blogspot.com/2024/02/zara-larsson-tente-dexister-sur-son.html
Ikejuju Posted February 8 Posted February 8 IMO. It’s not a bad album, does it have the highs of So Good or Póster Girl? No, but it doesn’t have lows as bad as those albums. If she would have replaced nothing with a pop banger this would have been an album I could listen to without skipping any tracks. 1
Everdeen Posted February 8 Posted February 8 She wasn’t allowed to release one bullet, bc she didn’t want it to be a single
popstyle Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Zara please stop recording ballads. The first half is good then the album falls flat and picks up at Venus the title track. Such a pretty song. 2

MelCryBabyFan Posted February 8 Posted February 8 lots of skips but cute ... cant tame her is very ava max coded
alexaalto Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) 11 hours ago, everytime said: wait can’t tame her album version is different 3:09 instead of 3:16 Yea I was wondering the same thing The intro starts differently on those two. But I can't find the shorter "album version" on Apple Music in my region at least, just Spotify:( Edited February 8 by alexaalto
